Nygard, 82, was on trial in the Ontario Superior Court for five counts of sexual assault and one count of forcible confinement charges linked to incidents between the 1980s and mid-2000s. He was acquitted of a fifth count of sexual assault and one count of forcible confinement. Nygard also faces charges of sexual assault and forcible confinement in Manitoba and Quebec.

Rep. Adam Schiff is facing censure for investigating Trump. Rep. George Santos, who has repeatedly lied and was recently indicted on 13 criminal charges, supports the censure. The Santos-supported resolution calls for the fine because, it claims, Schiff "lied, made misrepresentations and abused sensitive information." GOP Sen. Mike Lee proposed a bill that would redefine obscenity and could upend the porn industry. Lee's bill targets content that has the "objective intent to arouse, titillate, or gratify the sexual desires of a person." The Free Speech Coalition, which represents the adult film industry, said the bill threatens the performers' livelihoods.
