One of Cootie’s first rebellions is his insistence on trying a Bing Bang Burger, whose comically unappealing commercials he sees constantly on TV. It is fastidiously, hilariously committed to the bit, constantly doubling down on the logistics of Cootie’s bigness. “I’m a Virgo” comes on the heels of a few ingenious experiments in TV surrealism, from “Atlanta” to “Undone” to the recent farce “Mrs. Its fantastical concept works in metaphor just the same way it works in fact, as it reminds us with proud bluntness. “I’m a Virgo” is a visual and ideological counterpoint to all this.

Opinion What a Motherless Son Knows About FatherhoodWhen I was 8, maybe 9 years old, there was a day when students in my class could bring their parents to school. I’ve no memory of this proclamation of my paternal dreams, but I know I’ve long perceived fatherhood as a noble pursuit. My father-figure admiration likely originated from watching my dad, flummoxed by grief, in the years after the plane crash in which my mother died at age 37. My older brother, Brandon, age 6, and my identical twin, Spencer, were on the same plane sitting right beside her. The film fastidiously re-enacts the events of the plane crash and its immediate aftermath.

Part of the kick of “Master Gardener” is that the writer-director Paul Schrader manages to pull off this improbable movie. As has been the case in many of Schrader’s stories, this one centers on a man who’s of this world and apart. That character — “God’s lonely man,” as he’s called in “Taxi Driver,” which Schrader wrote — has appeared repeatedly in his filmography. That lonely man is here again, risen once more in “Master Gardener,” but now named Narvel Roth and played like a clenched fist by Joel Edgerton. In all three movies, a solitary, soul-weary man in crisis — who’s invariably seen alone in a room writing in a journal he shares in voice-over — undergoes a kind of transfiguration.
In November, one of the world's most consequential hedge funds announced a shake-up at the top of its power structure. In an internal memo, the founder of Millennium Management, Izzy Englander, said that Bobby Jain would be vacating the co-CIO role. "You can't readily find that managerial experience at other hedge funds and Goldman is a perfect place to look for those people." 8 former Goldman Sachs leaders are now Millennium execsEnglander isn't alone — firms rarely are in the copycat world of multistrats. In a statement to Insider, Abbey Collins, a spokesperson for Goldman Sachs, said, "Goldman Sachs has always been and remains a talent magnet.
CNN —The bizarre and salacious nature of “The Vow,” with its intensely detailed look at the Nxivm cult, made the docuseries an understandable sensation, so much so that HBO came back for more. While “The Vow Part Two” gives viewers a front-row seat of the federal trial against founder Keith Raniere, it’s a more fragmented exercise that feels unduly stretched over six parts. Despite Nxivm’s obsession with loyalty, it’s a good reminder that what happens in Vegas seldom stays there. “Allison is a victim who was sent out to do something that she believed was good because she believed Keith was good,” Salzman explains. Warts and all, the totality of “The Vow,” including the earlier episodes, makes for fairly intoxicating viewing.
