Rescuers in Yellowstone National Park searched the area of Eagle Peak on Sunday in an effort to find a park concession worker who failed to check in at the end of a personal trip, authorities said. The mountain rises 11,358 feet above sea level and is Yellowstone National Park's highest location, according to the service. The Tuesday phone call was the last anyone heard from King, the park service said. In the last three days, temperatures in Yellowstone National Park have bottomed out in the high 20s and struggled to break the 60-degree mark, according to National Weather Service data. The park service said King is 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, has hazel eyes and was wearing glasses, a black sweatshirt and gray pants.

DETROIT – U.S. auto sales through the first half of the year are expected to be up by 2.9% compared to a year ago, but there are concerns that the auto industry may not be able to continue the momentum during the last six months of the year. Vehicle inventory levels are growing, incentives are increasing and there's growing uncertainty during the second half of the year surrounding the economy, interest rates and U.S. presidential election, according to Cox Automotive. The auto data and research firm expects sales growth to slow during the second half of the year to end 2024 at 15.7 million units, roughly a 1.3% increase compared to 2023. And, unlike in recent years, growth is coming from commercial sales compared to more profitable sales to consumers.

Senator John Fetterman, Democrat of Pennsylvania, was at fault in a car accident in Maryland on Sunday and has a record of distracted driving and infractions, according to police records and former aides. A witness to the crash said Mr. Fetterman passed her on Eisenhower Memorial Highway in western Maryland, driving well over the posted speed limit of 70 miles per hour, according to the police report. Mr. Fetterman’s vehicle then rear-ended another, the report said. The senator and his wife, Gisele Barreto Fetterman, as well as the other driver, a 62-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet Impala, were taken to the hospital. Images of what appeared to be Mr. Fetterman’s totaled SUV were obtained by WPXI.

Costco Auto has facilitated more than 500,000 vehicle sales annually over the past five years on average, according to Jay Maxwell, Costco Auto Program general manager responsible for strategic partnerships. GM declined to disclose how many Costco customers have purchased GM vehicles through the program. EV interestA growing number of vehicle sales made through Costco Auto are of electric vehicles, Costco said. In addition to GM, Costco Auto has partnered with Volvo, including its Polestar EV startup brand, Audi and others over the years. The Costco Auto Program was initially part of wholesale competitor Price Club, which merged with Costco in 1993.
