Her death in the spring of 1919 came during a stretch of time when 150,000 Jews were murdered. Ilan Troen's daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Shlomi Mathias, who were murdered in their home in Kibbutz Holit on the Gaza border in the opening hours of the Hamas pogrom on Saturday. Hamas and other antisemites do not have the power to terminate what was initiated on this land more than 3,000 years ago.
