It could also boost sales of the pricey Vision Pro, which has reportedly and unexpectedly received a production cut. During its most recent earnings call, CEO Tim Cook said more than half of the Fortune 100 companies have already bought an Apple Vision Pro. But while it’s unclear when generative AI will come to the Vision Pro, Nygugen said: “It’s only a matter of time.”That’s because the Vision Pro is merely just another interface – much like a tablet, laptop, or watch, that touches Apple’s ecosystem. The Vision Pro, the tech giant's $3,499 headset, is its first major release since the Apple Watch nine years ago. “Vision Pro just came out a few months ago and it needs to get its feet under it before it really starts to take off,” Llamas said.

It came almost 12 months after Google combined two key AI groups, DeepMind and Google Brain. Google's AI MVPGoogle DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis GoogleDemis Hassabis might be the most important person at Google right now. Then, in April last year, Pichai announced he would merge DeepMind with Google's in-house AI unit, known as Brain, into a supergroup named Google DeepMind. And it will have to prove to Wall Street there’s more growth up ahead. In its fourth quarter of 2023, Roblox revenue was $750 million, up 30% year-over-year – but had a net loss of $323.7 million. CNN —Even though Apple has silenced critics and beaten existential crises before, some fans of its minimalist products and investors in its maximalist stock are nervous. Analysts are expecting low sales figures for the quarter ending March 31 – despite the company beating expectations in the last four quarters. This will be its first earnings report since the launch of its biggest new product in years, its $3,499 mixed reality Vision Pro headset. So, I tested popular apps with VR workouts like Supernatural, Litesport, Xponential+, FitXR, and Les Mills XR Bodycombat. The Supernatural VR app combined beautiful surroundings with full-body workoutsI worked out while wearing my Meta Quest 3 VR headset. The app's music library set it apart from the other VR workout apps I've tried, many of which didn't have recognizable songs. Many of the workout apps I tried tapped into my competitive drive by creating a video-game-like environment. The next time I feel unmotivated to work out, I might try a VR exercise app.

Why do phones need apps? At this year's Mobile World Congress, the future of the smartphone and how we connect were firmly under the microscope. Deutsche Telekom and Brain.ai demoed one such instance at MWC: a smartphone with no apps. It's just an idea for now, but it's prompting an interesting question: Why assume the smartphone of the future has apps at all? But the smartphone industry is slumping, and there's a "need to invigorate the upgrade cycle," Milanesi told BI.

EToro, which operates a trading platform on which users can buy and sell a range of assets ranging from stocks and exchange-traded funds to cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, is looking at ways of launching on Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest. "We are planning to look at how we think about eToro with natural language, with voice, but actually also in the realm of AR VR, during 2024," Assia told CNBC last week. However, he suggested it will be a serious focus for the firm in 2024.

But the real challenge is everything in between — some would say the '50 shades of green'," Usher said during a "IOT: Powering the Digital Economy" panel moderated by CNBC's Steve Sedgwick at this year's World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. This refers to companies still working toward making their businesses more sustainable, making them more difficult to label as truly green investments, according to Usher. watch now"If you're going to work in helping deal with heavy emitting sectors and you're going to put more capital in to help them reduce [emissions], that's going to increase your emissions profile," he explained. "So there's a lot of definitional stuff that's needed before the capital is going to flow really at scale," Usher added. More and more businesses strived to make their businesses more sustainable amid severe weather events across the globe.

The startup says they'll be an "affordable alternative" to rivals like the Apple Vision Pro. Unlike Apple's Vision Pro, Xu says XReal has no intentions to build a fully immersive virtual reality feature into its glasses. Yet, when it comes to its AR capabilities, Xu says his company's is half a decade ahead of Apple's. "I think we're three to five years ahead of them in AR," Chi said in regards to Apple.

Finnish mixed-reality startup Varjo on Monday launched its latest headset, the XR-4, a product it hopes to sell to large enterprise firms. The headset, which starts at a price of $3,990, is similar to those from Meta , Microsoft and Apple . Unlike consumer offerings from companies such as Meta, Varjo's headset is intended for enterprise use cases. For example, a pilot working for a major defense contractor could use it to train in a virtual reality simulation. The XR-4 headset has two 4K displays and a 50% wider field of view compared with previous-generation devices.

The lawsuit accuses the companies of defrauding the state's Medicaid program, and seeks unspecified money damages from the companies. On Saturday, the UK will mark Armistice Day – the date commemorating the de-facto end of World War I. Also on Saturday, pro-Palestinian protesters will march through central London demanding a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict. Every living UK Prime Minister lays a wreath at the monument, along with other senior politicians, visiting dignitaries and members of the royal family. Banning such a protest in the name of those who died for precisely these sorts of freedoms is not the best look on Armistice Day. The Conservative Party’s poll ratings are poor and Sunak is already barely holding together a fragile coalition of parliamentarians.

A range of XR tech is available for marketingMarketers have a range of XR technologies to choose from when developing immersive marketing campaigns. Apple is one company that's "pushing the boundaries" of XR-based marketing, Van Belleghem said. XR to the rescueXR technology is also helping marketers solve many of their biggest day-to-day challenges. XR technology also makes scalability easier, Van Belleghem said, because it provides a "scale that real-life events simply cannot match." The statement came after Chinese research firm EqualOcean published a report saying that ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming told Pico's management team ByteDance would gradually give up on the Pico business. Pico is under normal operation and the company will continue to invest in the extended reality (XR) business over the long term," ByteDance said in a statement shared with Reuters. The Pico headsets are often seen as ByteDance's answer to the popular Quest headsets developed by Meta Platforms Inc (META.O). Pico has the biggest market share for VR headsets in China, accounting for over 58% of the market, as Meta's Quest devices have yet to enter the country officially. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this year that Pico has increased its headset shipments last year while Meta's headset shipments declined.

NEW YORK (AP) — All models of Onewheel self-balancing electric skateboards are under recall after at least four deaths and multiple injuries were reported in recent years, federal regulators said last week. Future Motion has received dozens of incident reports involving these skateboards, the CPSC said Friday — including four deaths between 2019 and 2021 and serious injuries like paralysis, traumatic brain injury, fractures and ligament damage. The recall impacts all Onewheel electric skateboards — including Onewheel, Onewheel+, Onewheel+ XR, Onewheel Pint, Onewheel Pint X and Onewheel GT — sold online and through independent retailers from January 2014 through September of this year. Riders can check their board's eligibility and learn more about installing the update with Onewheel's app on Future Motion's website. Prior to last week's announcement, the CPSC warned consumers to stop using Onewheel electric skateboards back in November — similarly pointing to the reports of death and serious injuries.

CNN —All models of Onewheel electric skateboards are being recalled after the maker Future Motion received reports of four deaths of users between 2019 and 2021 and multiple reports of serious injuries. Santa Cruz-based Future Motion initially refused to agree to a recall in November, when the Consumer Product Safety Commission first warned customers to stop using the skateboards. The firmware update will roll out in a few weeks, and is only available for Onewheel GT, Pint X, Pint, and XR products, not original Onewheel and Onewheel+ skateboards, the company said. Future Motion and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission encouraged riders to wear personal safety equipment. CNN has reached out to Future Motion for comment.
