The 47-year-old from London is one of the game's most successful professional coaches, guiding Chelsea to 13 major trophies in her 11 seasons with the Women's Super League club. Hayes' deal with the U.S., which will reportedly run through at least 2027, will make her the highest paid women's soccer coach in the world, U.S. Soccer said on Tuesday. "This is a huge honour to be given the opportunity to coach the most incredible team in world football history," Hayes said in the statement announcing her appointment. Chelsea announced on Nov. 4 that Hayes would leave her job at the end of the Women's Super League season in May to pursue a new opportunity "outside the WSL and club football." LONDON, Aug 1 (Reuters) - Chelsea have signed teenage midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu from Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes on a seven-year contract with an option of another year, the Premier League club said on Tuesday. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed but British media reported that Chelsea had paid Rennes about 27.5 million euros ($30.15 million) for the 19-year-old. Ugochukwu, a France under-19 international, was a regular at Rennes last season, helping the club finish fourth in the French top flight and making the Europa League knockout stage. Ugochukwu joined the Rennes youth system aged eight and made his senior debut just after his 17th birthday, becoming the club's fourth-youngest debutant at the time.

April 24 (Reuters) - England's Premiership Cup will include Championship sides from next season in a new and expanded format, the country's rugby union (RFU), the Premiership and second-tier clubs said on Monday. The move comes after criticism of the RFU's lack of support for championship clubs and when no championship club will be promoted. Premiership clubs traditionally use the competition as an opportunity to field teams mixed from young squad members and established players returning from injury. "It is many years since the Premiership and Championship clubs clashed in a Cup competition," Premiership Rugby's director Phil Winstanley said in a statement. "The Championship performs a crucial role within the English game and we're looking forward to renewing some rivalries of old.
