According to an annual survey of diversity among Senate Democratic staffers released this week, just 12% of the conservative West Virginia Democrat's staffers identify as non-white — the lowest of any Senate Democratic office. And in a stark contrast from the rest of the Democratic caucus, 0% of his staffers identify as LGBTQ, according to the survey. When it comes to gender diversity, Manchin also ranks low among the rest of his colleagues: 46% of his staff are women.
