After her stone-cold expression went viral at the Paris Olympics, sharpshooter Kim Ye-Ji will play the role of an actual assassin in an upcoming Korean series. “Crush” is an action series that will follow characters from all over the Asian continent, Lee JungSub, writer and director of “Crush,” told NBC News. While it was an asset to Biden in polling against Trump, it appears to be a much bigger advantage for Harris. And in this new NBC poll, Harris’ advantage was just under 20 points. It’s obvious at this point that Trump will win men by close to double digits, ditto with Harris among women. But many voters have seen "Vice President Kamala Harris" as a fresher candidate, including those who previously viewed Trump as a better steward of the economy. That would spell doom for Democrats' Senate majority.

PeopleImagesProgress toward narrowing the gender pay gap has mostly stalled, in part due to something researchers call the "gender promotion gap." Women are about 13% less likely to be promoted than men, according to Shue's research. That imbalance is a major driver in the persistent income inequality between men and women, she said. About 70% of the gender wage gap is due to women occupying different positions compared to men, according to Shue. But even when men and women occupy the same position, women are paid less, she added.

Twice in my life, I've attempted to retire, and both times, I've been tempted back into full-time work. Both my husband and I had done very well in our jobs, so I was fortunate enough to be able to retire early. By the age of 40, I'd worked my way to the top as a financial planner. AdvertisementDuring my second attempt at retirement, I realized how much I loved working with clientsThen, I really lost my mojo for work. While this adventure was exhilarating, I ultimately realized I missed being at home near loved ones and, most of all, working with clients.

Demi Moore gives the wildest performance of her career in French filmmaker Coralie Fargeat's provocative new movie "The Substance." So Sue's body (while she's en route to the big New Year's Eve performance) starts deteriorating: her teeth begin coming out, and a nail pops off. CNN —American gymnast Jordan Chiles’ legal team has submitted a new application in the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland over the decision that led to her losing an Olympic bronze medal, pointing toward new video evidence that Chiles’ lawyers say proves her case. Chiles’ attorneys say that a documentary crew has video and audio recordings to prove Chiles’ case. Romanian gymnast Ana Bǎrbosu appeared to have locked up the bronze medal after Chiles finished her routine. That decision led to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) handing the bronze medal to Bǎrbosu. Chiles’ latest filing follows an earlier filing, from September 16, where Chiles opted to appeal CAS’ decision to the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland.

LeanIn and McKinsey have released their annual Women in the Workplace Report, and while there are clear signs of progress, women also face major headwinds. Companies now offer significantly more work-life benefits than they did even five years ago: In 2024, 92% of companies offered paid maternity leave and 86% offered paid paternity leave, up from 2018, when 78% of companies offered paid maternity leave and 70% offered paid paternity leave. "We're seeing some progress, but it's pretty fragile," says Sheryl Sandberg, the founder and board chair of LeanIn. "People have added women to senior leadership in staff roles, but if you're looking for, 'Where's the CEO pipeline?' While women have reached the C-suite, they disproportionately oversee staff functions, she points out, like legal and HR.
