Pitchfork announced that its annual Chicago music festival would not return in 2025.
In an announcement on social media and on its website, the music publication said it made the decision after assessing the rapidly evolving "music festival landscape."
“For 19 years, Pitchfork Music Festival has been a celebration of music, art, and community—a space where memories were made, voices were amplified, and the shared love of music brought us all together."
Pitchfork Music Festival was founded in 2006 by the publication's founder Ryan Schreiber, ex-Pitchfork staffer Chris Kaskie and festival producer Mike Reed.
It is unclear if the music festival will move forward in the other cities, but Pitchfork said in its statement that it "will continue to produce events in 2025 and beyond."
