Its new "turtle tanks" may look silly, but there are indications they may be effective. Some OSINT pages highlighted the turtle tank's role in the assault on Krasnohorivka. A Ukrainian official said his country is up to nine months behind in its pushback against Russia. Mykhailo Podolyak told Channel 24 that Western approvals delayed weapons by three to four months. AdvertisementAdvertisementA top advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the country's military efforts against Russia are six to nine months behind schedule because of delays in Western weapons deliveries in the fall of 2022. "If Ukraine had received weapons faster, we could have defended ourselves better and launched a counterattack," Mykhailo Podolyak told Ukrainian Channel 24 news outlet, per the Kyiv Post . Weapon deliveries to Ukraine were delayed by three to four months due to the logistics and approvals of Western nations, Podolyak said, which "seriously" hampered its defense capability.

If the rebellion is mentioned, then it’s only as a long-exhausted issue,” Bot Blocker added. According to the initial analysis from Bot Blocker, there were no changes in rhetoric after the official confirmation of Prigozhin’s death.

Ukraine will not be able to use U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets in 2023, air force spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat told Ukrainian television Wednesday night, according to Reuters. "It's already obvious we won't be able to defend Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets during this autumn and winter," Ihnat reportedly said in a joint telethon broadcast by Ukrainian channels. Ukraine has long been lobbying Western allies for the war planes, and while U.S. President Joe Biden agreed to training Ukrainian pilots in May, no timeline has been set for delivery of the aircraft. Meanwhile, state media in North Korea reported there was a "military cooperation plan" agreed by Kim Jong Un and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu when the minister visited North Korea last month. Shoigu visited North Korea in late July for the 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean War, celebrated in North Korea as "Victory Day."

Emergency service personnel clear a destroyed building near the Odesa Port after a Russian attack on Thursday, July 20. Late last week, Russian cruise missiles blasted the port and an overlooking bluff where the imposing Chinese consulate is located. The city in southern Ukraine is a key cultural center, and has long links with Russia. The attacks also coincide with Russia pulling out of the Black Sea grain deal that was keeping Ukrainian grain flowing to the world. Consider that East Africa, where the World Food Program says millions of people are experiencing unprecedented levels of food insecurity, is hugely dependent on Ukrainian grain.

Russian authorities found out through social media that someone set fire to a military jet. Footage of the burning aircraft emerged on Monday on the Telegram channel for the Freedom of Russia Legion, a Ukrainian organization that consists of military defectors from Russia and Belarus. Local police then discovered the video online, reported the independent Russian media outlet Baza. But it reported that despite the Freedom of Russia Legion's claims that the Su-24 was "completely destroyed," the aircraft was "not particularly damaged." Russian authorities categorized the Freedom of Russia Legion as a terrorist group on March 16.
The UN is reviewing reports that Ukrainians may have executed 10 Russian prisoners of war. Videos reviewed by The New York Times appear to show Russian soldiers were killed at close range. On Ukrainian channels, the videos were shared as examples of the country's successful defense against Russian invaders, according to The Times.
