Athletes Steve Serio and Nicky Nieves have been selected as the Team USA flag bearers for the upcoming 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. The 2024 Games in Paris will mark his fifth Paralympics as he previously competed in the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games, 2012 London Paralympic Games, 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games and 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games. Ahead of the Paris Paralympic Games, Team USA shared a video on Instagram of Serio, 36, taking a trip down memory lane as he revisited his headshots for past Games. The Team USA Instagram account shared a photo of Nieves posing alongside some of her USA women’s sitting volleyball teammates on Thursday. The 2024 Paris Paralympic Games begins with its opening ceremony on Aug. 28 and will end on Sept. 8.

CNN —The head coach and players of Team USA’s women’s basketball endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential bid on Wednesday. Harris took over the Democratic nomination earlier this month after President Joe Biden decided to end his reelection bid and endorse his No. The players on Team USA – and the WNBA in general –have been far more willing to engage in political statements than some of their other professional sports peers. CNN —USA Basketball’s roster for the women’s Olympic basketball team that will chase gold in Paris this summer will not include WNBA rookie sensation Caitlin Clark, according to CNN sports analyst Christine Brennan. The US women’s team will play an exhibition game against Germany in London on July 23 before their first game of the 2024 Paris Olympics on July 29. The USA women’s 3x3 team features some of America’s younger talent. 3x3 basketball is being contested in just its second Olympic games, with the US winning the inaugural women’s gold medal in Tokyo in 2021.
