The company behind the game Cards Against Humanity is aiming to one-up Elon Musk with its plan to pay blue-leaning swing-state residents who make voting plans and agree to publicly condemn Donald Trump. On a website created by the game company, eligible voters are asked to provide their personal information, which is then checked against voter data that the company said it bought from a data broker. Cards Against Humanity is also selling a $7.99 card game expansion pack with cards themed to the election. Cards Against Humanity, a popular card game that features offensive and sexually explicit jokes, has increasingly taken a progressive political stance. The Cards Against Humanity website said it is “exploiting a legal loophole.” It also took aim at Musk directly, writing that registered swing-state voters could participate in his PAC's program and list Cards Against Humanity as their referrer — compelling Musk's PAC to send the company money.

Elon Musk’s pro-Trump America PAC is offering people $47 if they successfully get one registered swing-state voter to sign a petition supporting the First and Second Amendments of the Constitution. Both Musk and America PAC have vocally encouraged swing-state voter registration ahead of the mandatory deadlines. Over the weekend, X repurposed the account handle “@america,” which used to belong to a different account, for Musk’s America PAC. New York CNN —When a Target distributor reached out to Erik Carnell last year about possibly placing his brand, Abprallen, in Target stores, he was thrilled. In the following months, Carnell pitched Target and came up with designs that would be appropriate for the big box store, he said. Ultimately, Target started selling three Abprallen items for adults: A sweatshirt, a tote bag and a messenger bag, each emblazoned with a different phrase. By Wednesday, Target had pulled Abprallen items from its US stores and online market, Reuters reported. New York CNN —Last year, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation gave Bud Light parent company Anheuser-Busch a top rating for LGBTQ+ equality. Bud Light sales dropped in the ensuing weeks. Bud Light has been embroiled in controversy since April. But Bud Light hasn’t gotten the benefit of support for its initial deal with Mulvaney because of its subsequent reaction. During the discussion, he mentioned that Bud Light is just one brand within the company’s broad portfolio, which has not changed its full-year outlook.

If those talks break down, they could lead to even broader work stoppages on film and television sets nationwide. Several states across the country have imposed bans on books, K-12 educational curricula and diversity programs in recent months. And even where statewide bans are not in place, restrictive measures are being enacted by local school boards. The mere mention of structural racism or gender discrimination or sexuality can potentially cost educators and librarians their jobs. The beginnings of this national movement to defend the freedom to learn is rekindling relationships between college students and civil rights activists and inspiring new ones between college faculty and K-12 teachers and librarians. With such formidable alliances among students, teachers, organizers and academics being forged in communities across the country, we finally have an answer to reverse the swelling tide of injustice and authoritarianism.
