These events tend to bring participation to the gold market because the commodity is viewed as a haven, he said. However, since the spot gold market is larger than the futures market, there is a tremendous amount of selling and buying volume for trading gold directly, which creates market depth at all times, he said. This creates more opportunities to capitalize by trading gold directly. However, in most cases, given the depth of the spot gold market (XAU/USD), order slippage is minimal, he noted. TradingViewHe emphasized that spot gold is often traded through an over-the-counter broker, and the volume bars may not be visible.

In a previous interview with Business Insider, he explained one of his main strategies: using the Fibonacci retracement tool to trade on price volatility. He aims to place a stop-limit buy order on a contract slightly above a previous high. It's based on the assumption that when the price begins to rally upward, it attracts more traders to the market and increases price action. ET, a time when market participation can increase for the oil market and create unpredictable conditions, he sold earlier at $79.24. He also avoids trading oil contracts when there are headlines about geopolitical instability or a breakout of war because they create uncertainty.

Da Ponte denied a Bloomberg report that the payments processor paused development of its stablecoin in February. But da Ponte argues this troubled backdrop is exactly why PayPal is poised to succeed. Then there's the hypothetical digital dollar that would be the Fed's take on a central bank digital currency, or CBDC. "We have a large base of consumers; we have a large base of merchants," da Ponte said of PayPal's "two-sided network." Da Ponte sees PayPal's more than 20-year tenure in the payments space as one of the company's chief advantages in the stablecoin market.

REUTERS/Dado Ruvic/Illustration/File Photo/File PhotoApril 13 (Reuters) - Trading and investing platform eToro said on Thursday it has partnered with Elon Musk-led Twitter to let users access real-time prices for cryptocurrencies, stocks and others assets. The trading data will be available through Twitter's Cashtags feature, which was launched in 2012 and allows users to interact with content around an asset by inserting a dollar sign in front of the ticker. Twitter users were earlier able to view real-time trading data from markets-charting platform TradingView, but only on some assets such as the S&P 500 index and shares of certain companies such as Tesla (TSLA.O). Now, they can click through to eToro's platform to see information about the asset, with an added option to invest.
Elon Musk told a Morgan Stanley conference last month he wants Twitter to become "the biggest financial institution in the world." Twitter will let its users access stocks, cryptocurrencies and other financial assets through a partnership with eToro, a social trading company. With the eToro partnership, Twitter cashtags will be expanded to cover far more instruments and asset classes, an eToro spokesperson told CNBC. We believe this partnership will enable us to reach those new audiences [and] connect better the brands of Twitter and eToro." Founded in Israel in 2007, eToro is an online brokerage that lets users buy and sell stocks, cryptocurrencies and index funds.
Bitcoin's market dominance has been climbing in March and is now up to levels not seen since June. Investors use it to determine which parts of the crypto market are outperforming or underperforming relative to their peers. When bitcoin dominance climbs, it implies that bitcoin is doing well, but more specifically, it means its outperforming altcoins. Bitcoin dominance has risen steadily since March 8, the day after Silvergate Bank announced its voluntary liquidation. "That's reflecting a view that a lot of macro investors have, that we're either at or very near the bottom of this macro cycle."

Venture capital firms on both sides of the Atlantic have been urging their portfolio companies to move money out of embattled lender Silicon Valley Bank, deepening fears of a run on the tech-focused bank. Silicon Valley Bank shares plunged 60% Thursday after disclosing that it needed to shore up its capital with a $2.25 billion equity raise from investors including General Atlantic. Pear VC, an early-stage VC firm based in San Francisco, urged its portfolio network to withdraw funds from SVB on Thursday. The wind-down of crypto-centric Silvergate Bank and pressure on Silicon Valley Bank this week reminded some founders of the 2008 financial crisis, in which banks toppled during the mortgage bust. We are seeing other funds encouraging companies to withdraw their funds from SVB.
