CNN —Following a difficult performance at the Glastonbury Festival over the weekend, Lewis Capaldi is taking a break from touring. The 26-year-old singer has been struggling with Tourette’s Syndrome, a neurological disorder that causes involuntary movements and sounds. Capaldi appeared to struggle on Saturday while singing his hit, “Someone You Loved,” when the audience stepped in to help him finish the song. “Playing for you every night is all I’ve ever dreamed of, so this has been the most difficult decision of my life. I’ll be back as soon as I possibly can.”A documentary about his diagnoses and living with the syndrome, “How I’m Feeling Now,” was released by Netflix in the Spring.

In his statement on Tuesday announcing the break from touring, Capaldi wrote, “The fact that this probably won’t come as a surprise doesn’t make it any easier to write.”“I used to be able to enjoy every second of shows like this and I’d hoped 3 weeks away would sort me out,” he wrote. “But the truth is I’m still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette’s and on Saturday it became obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come.”Tourette’s syndrome is characterized by sudden jerking movements and uncontrollable tics and vocalizations, and Capaldi could be seen twitching onstage during his performance Saturday. His next show was scheduled for Wednesday in Zurich, followed by performances across Asia, Europe and the Middle East. This spring, he released a Netflix documentary, “How I’m Feeling Now,” about his diagnosis and the management of his illness. He also discussed it during an interview with The New York Times last month, before he released his second studio album, “Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent.”

The Scottish singer-songwriter shared a message on his verified Instagram page on Monday notifying his followers that he is canceling all previously scheduled performances until his appearance at the Glastonbury Festival in England on June 24. “It’s been such an incredible time leading into this new album, and seeing all of the support from everyone has been beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of,” his statement began. “I’m getting all the help and support I need from the incredible people around me who I’m so grateful for,” Capaldi wrote, before assuring his followers that he “can’t wait to be back doing it again.”In February, Capaldi revealed during an Instagram live that he was diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome, a neurological disorder that causes involuntary movements and sounds. New York CNN —Elon Musk publicly scoffed at a Twitter employee’s uncertainty about whether he had been laid off in a recent round of cuts and spoke dismissively of the employee’s disability in a series of tweets Monday night. Haraldur Thorleifsson, an Iceland-based Twitter senior director, tweeted at Musk that access to his computer had been cut off nine days earlier, when Twitter reportedly laid off some 200 employees. It’s not the first time Musk, one of the richest men in the world, has publicly mocked employees at Twitter, the company he bought for $44 billion last year. Hundreds of former Twitter employees are now taking legal action against the company, alleging broken severance promises and, in some cases, discrimination, including against disabled employees. Following the exchange with Musk, Thorleifsson said in a tweet that Twitter’s HR head had confirmed he is no longer employed at the company.
