CNN —Dallas police are investigating after a Southwest Airlines flight was struck by a bullet as it was preparing to depart from Dallas Love Field Airport in Texas Friday evening, authorities said. The bullet apparently struck the right side of the plane just under the flight deck as the plane was taxiing for takeoff from Dallas to Indianapolis just before 10 p.m., according to Southwest Airlines. The Boeing 737-800 plane sustained damage after the bullet struck “near the cockpit,” according to the Federal Aviation Administration. It also comes about two years after a woman allegedly fired several gunshots into the air at Dallas Love Field Airport, sparking chaos as travelers fled. Dallas Love Field Airport is located about 6 miles northwest of downtown Dallas and primarily serves Southwest Airlines, its website states.

A Dallas singer has been hospitalized after she was shot on stage following a performance with The Black Academy of Arts and Letters in downtown Dallas on Saturday, police said. 26-year-old Jada Arnell Thomas had been signing autographs on stage when a woman in the crowd shot her, witnesses told NBC DFW. Thomas was transported to a local hospital by Dallas Fire Rescue and is reported to be in stable condition, the Dallas Police Department told NBC News. CNN —An arrest warrant has been issued for Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller, who has been accused of assaulting a pregnant woman, the Dallas Police Department said in a statement to CNN on Thursday. A police spokesperson told CNN the arrest warrant is active, meaning Miller is not currently in custody. Police said a preliminary investigation determined Miller and the woman had a verbal argument and that Miller allegedly assaulted her. “This morning, we were made aware of an incident involving Von Miller,” the Bills said in a statement.
