Pest control maker Rentokil Initial said Wednesday that Trian partner Brian Baldwin would join the Terminix owner's board effective next week. The company said Baldwin, who has worked at Nelson Peltz's firm since 2007, will also join the nominating and compensation committees. The accession comes three months after Trian first disclosed a roughly $400 million position in Rentokil, and two weeks after the company issued a profit warning. Peltz's Trian has a long history of turning around struggling businesses, largely in the consumer sector. His company mounted a proxy fight at Disney earlier this year, failing to secure a board seat but still making around $1 billion off the investment.

Rentokil offers a complete range of pest control services, from rodents to flying and crawling insects, to other forms of wildlife management. Trian, managed by Nelson Peltz, takes very few positions, but is very active in its positions. Rentokil Initial is a United Kingdom-based global provider of pest control, hygiene and well-being services for residential, commercial and industrial customers. However, when it has engaged with UK companies, the firm has consistently been able to create shareholder value. Shifting the listing to the U.S. is the low-hanging fruit of value creation and potentially divesting the European business could create additional value.

Nelson Peltz's Trian Partners has amassed a significant stake in Terminix parent Rentokil and is seeking to engage with leadership on "ideas and initiatives to improve shareholder value," a spokesperson told CNBC Tuesday. That would mean that its stake is valued at more than $400 million, or at least 3% of shares outstanding. A spokesperson for Rentokil, which is headquartered in London, did not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment. The news of his stake in Rentokil, reported earlier by Bloomberg, comes shortly after Trian disposed of its remaining stake in Disney. Peltz earlier this year ran an unsuccessful campaign for board seats at the entertainment giant.

REUTERS/Mike Blake Acquire Licensing RightsLONDON, Oct 19 (Reuters Breakingviews) - Rentokil (RTO.L) is an obvious contender to ditch its London listing in favour of the U.S. CEO Andy Ransom said that it is getting harder to win new business due to “the macroeconomic backdrop”. Rollins is valued on nearly 38 times its forward earnings, versus Rentokil which was trading on just 23 times before Thursday’s fall, according to LSEG data. With Rentokil shareholders a little ratty, Ransom may come under more pressure to consider ways of pepping up the stock, like ditching London in favour of the more highly valued U.S. market. Google has disputed the Adalytics report, with a spokesperson describing it in a statement to Insider as "deeply flawed and misleading." An IPG Mediabrands spokeswoman said it was not accurate to say the agency was recommending a pause on any Google product. "What worries me about this Adalytics report is that Performance Max campaigns have allegedly been observed to run on made-for children inventory," Schreurs said. The article also refers to research undertaken by 3rd party (Adalytics) and the Adalytics report also mentions the following IPG/MB clients: 1. Many Pride organizers across the country say high-profile brand backlashes, restrictive legislation and heightened threats against LGBTQ people have fueled record crowd turnout this year. Most of the Pride organizers NBC News spoke with, including Snider, declined to identify corporate sponsors that shrunk their involvement or visibility, concerned about alienating important financial backers. Like Indy Pride, Pride organizations are typically nonprofit organizations that also offer year-round services to the LGBTQ community, such as grants, educational events and support for political activism. Josh Coleman, president of Central Alabama Pride in Birmingham, said some longtime corporate sponsors dropped out this year, including Wells Fargo. Kendra Johnson, executive director of Equality NC, said threats against the community and Pride events have risen dramatically throughout North Carolina.
