The 2022 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Kiplangat broke away on his own with about 4 km (2.5 miles) to go, crossing the finish line with an advantage of 19 seconds. An exhausted Gebresilase was then overtaken by Teferi, a silver medallist at last year's European Athletics Championships, in the last 200 metres. Defending champion Tamirat Tola, who was part of a three-man breakaway with Kiplangat and Gebresilase before fading, did not finish the race and dropped out after 39 km. A pack of about 30 runners then slowed the pace and took control of it, before Kiplangat, Gebresilase and Tola made their move with 10 km to go. The women's marathon took place on Saturday, with Ethiopia's Amane Beriso claiming gold.

CNN —Ethiopian runner Senbere Teferi looked to be mere seconds away from defending her Peachtree Road Race title. The first three competitors of the women’s elite division of the Peachtree Road Race, a 10-kilometer race held annually in Atlanta on July 4, were approaching the finish line when Teferi, the 2022 champion, had the lead. But with just meters to go, Teferi, who was following a lead vehicle, took a right turn, running off course. But after I saw that car turn, I saw the finish sign in front of me, so I pushed ahead. But I was really upset because I really planned to stick with Senbere at the finish.”Approximately 50,000 people participate in the Peachtree Road Race.

Două copile de patru ani se află în stare critică la spital, după ce castelul gonflabil în care se jucau a explodat. Potrivit presei ruse, incidentul a avut loc duminică, 30 mai, în orașul Barnaul. Incidentul a avut loc sub ochii îngroziți ai părinților celor două fete și a fost surprins de camerele de supraveghere aflate în zonă. Ceilalţi copii, care se jucau în castelul gonflabil care a explodat au scăpat teferi ca prin minute. Primele date ale anchetei arată că unele cabluri nu au fost bine montate, iar castelul gonflabil a fost legat de gard, fiind „grav încălcate” normele de siguranță.
