There's good news for fixed-income investors heading into next year, according to Goldman Sachs Asset Management. After a dismal 2023, next year will be "the year of the bond," predicted Lindsay Rosner, head of multisector fixed income investing at the money manager. "Fixed income is a great place to be," she said in an interview with CNBC. The investment firm recently released its outlook for 2024 and called the recent run of negative fixed income returns in response to "an inflation and policy shock" an anomaly and not the trend. "Given [that] duration can be your friend again, things are lining up to put you in a really good position in fixed income."

Lindsay Shiver, 36, of Thomasville, Georgia, is accused of unsuccessfully conspiring with two Bahamas natives to kill her husband, Robert Shiver, on July 16 while on the Abaco Islands. Bail for Lindsay Shiver was set at $100,000, her defense attorney, Ian Cargill, said. Lindsay Shiver and two suspected co-conspirators have been in custody at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services since their arrest last week. CNN —Connor McDavid won his third Hart Trophy – awarded to the NHL’s most valuable player – on Monday after a near unanimous vote. McDavid enjoyed a stellar season for the Oilers, leading the league in goals, assists and points. Although the 26-year-old has yet to taste Stanley Cup success, the importance of his personal accolades is hugely significant to Hart. “Certainly, it’s not lost on me what these trophies mean in the grand scheme of our game,” McDavid said. The accolade is presented “to the most outstanding player in the NHL,” as voted by fellow members of the NHL Players’ Association.
