Bitcoin's blues could linger throughout July, but investors are still optimistic about the cryptocurrency in the second half of the year. July is usually a strong month for bitcoin, which has finished higher for the month in seven of the last 11 years, according to CoinGlass. "There are always other known potential sources of bitcoin supply from government for example, but it's always uncertain when that's coming to market. This week, the crypto market was startled when the U.S. and German governments sent large amounts of previously seized bitcoin to exchanges, according to CryptoQuant. Marion Laboure, senior strategist at Deutsche Bank Research, said growing demand for crypto ETFs will help keep bitcoin's price "elevated" in the months ahead.

Now, investment advisors are finding new and expansive use cases for AI in financial management. Vanguard is using AI to aggregate information from earnings transcripts and research reports, and has recently begun using AI to manage four of its stock funds. State Street is adding a generative AI feature to its platform which will answer customer questions about their portfolio and run analyses on portfolio data. There are some risks to using AI in investing, especially when your money could be on the line. Congress has pushed back on the rule, but Crawford is confident that AI regulation is in the cards, given the technology's far-reaching nature.

For the ATRFX fund, this means betting on currencies, equities, commodities, and bonds, but not in a direct way. Instead, it employs everything from arbitrage strategies, riding out momentum and interest rates, or sitting on the sidelines when it's choppy. Over the last couple of years, higher interest rates have brought in some good yields. Related storiesOne step further is to arbitrage interest rates across currencies. Investors can do this by identifying national currencies with low interest rates, borrowing in that currency, and then lending in the currencies with higher interest rates.

It's simply a matter of time before the current bull rally broadens beyond technology stocks, according to John Stoltzfus, chief market strategist at Oppenheimer. The technology sector has dominated the market runup this year, with the S & P 500 tech group outpacing all others by soaring 28% in 2024. But as the Federal Reserve begins to eventually cut interest rates, Stoltzfus said in an interview with CNBC that the tide will turn. Stoltzfus' year-end S & P 500 target of 5,500 is higher than at least six other forecasts on Wall Street, according to the CNBC Pro Market Strategist Survey. Meanwhile, the market is also due to broaden as investors turn from high stock valuations and diversify thier holdings.

But that's not what it looked like on Thursday when Biden floundered in his debate performance against former President Donald Trump, political strategists told Business Insider. "It was a disaster for President Biden," Alex Zdan, GOP political strategist and former New Jersey Republican candidate for US Senate, told BI. Where the similarities endAnother Trump presidency would mean a vastly different America than if Biden won a second term. When BI reached out for comment, representatives for the Trump campaign declined to answer questions about similarities between Trump and Biden. To have a chance, Biden will need that constituency to ignore his poor debate performance and questions about his age.

Although Micron (MU) has not had Nvidia's meteoric performance, it has been a stellar stock, doubling in the last year and up over 50% in 2024. The AI boom has buoyed memory chips higher as these chips have become a more important component for artificial intelligence accelerators. However, the possibly unrealistic bar now being set for AI earnings reports saw Micron drop more than 7% on high volume. I found this levered concept incredibly valuable when I ran other peoples' money at my hedge fund years ago. My first question to them, usually interjected, rudely, if I were bored or confused was: "What the heck is this business levered to?" Palo Alto Networks To understand this kind of leverage that I am talking about — as opposed to the kind that involves debt —let's start with something easy, let's start with the stock of Palo Alto Networks . We own Palo Alto because its fortunes are levered to something that has the most explosive growth of an industry I know: cybercrime. If we didn't own Palo Alto we would own CrowdStrike.
