It's wild how many job listings might be fake

Companies often post bogus roles to ease employees' concerns about being overworked and signal that the organization is growing, said Resume Builder, which recently found three in 10 employers have fake job listings. The reasons for listing fake jobs included signaling that the employer was willing to hire from outside the organization. Haller said employers that dangle fake listings risk hurting themselves by undermining their reputations. AdvertisementFake listings can lead to real jobsAbout seven in 10 of the fake jobs were on a company website or LinkedIn, according to the survey. And, yet, despite all the shenanigans, many fake listings often lead to real interviews — and even employment.

Scott Wren, a senior global market strategist at Wells Fargo Investment Institute, recently noted that market breadth is abnormally narrow. He found that the five best performers in the S&P 500 accounted for nearly three-fifths of its exceptional 10.6% year-to-date gain through May 31. That fate will soon apply to the S&P 500, Wren warned. Such a sell-off would take the S&P 500 below 5,000 for the first time since April. "And it's tough to be patient when the S&P 500 set a bunch of all-time high records."

Former President Donald Trump on Saturday gave a brief glimpse of the ammunition he is loading up against President Joe Biden's handling of the economy ahead of the first presidential debate next week. On inflation specifically, Trump foreshadowed a tactic he said he might use at the upcoming debate against Biden on June 27. What sets high achievers apart from everyone else, Fuller has discovered, isn't their confidence or business acumen — it's their adaptability. "They're not wedded to some predetermined career path that they set when they were a student or starting their first job," he tells CNBC Make It. It's great to set career goals and create timelines for achieving them. In both cases, "you're ignoring what motivates or interests you, and instead letting rigid expectations guide your career," says Fuller. If you fixate on a specific career path, you risk overlooking other fulfilling options for your professional life, Fuller adds.
