Causing a stirThe Hammonds, who were just passing through the small city, settled into the corner booth at Shrimp Boat Manny’s, a Cajun restaurant that was winding down lunch service.
Over plates of hush puppies, fried green tomatoes, crawfish étouffée and pecan pie, they found an outlet, plugged in their laptop and headphones and focused on their stream of “The Great British Baking Show” semifinal.
