A Spanish person is also among the wounded, a Spanish diplomatic source told CNN. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez described the Spanish shooting victims as tourists, according to a post on X. “Overwhelmed by the news of the murder of Spanish tourists in Afghanistan. Albares said he spoken with Cameron on Monday on the telephone and both men agreed to meet in Brussels to further discuss the status of Gibraltar there. He said he was due to fly to Brussels later on Tuesday, adding: "Spain wants this agreement to be signed tomorrow." The European Commission and Spain sent Britain a proposal, including keeping Gibraltar's land border to Spain, open in late 2022 and ensuring the free flow of people. Spain ceded the rocky outpost at the mouth of the Mediterranean Sea to Britain in 1713 but has long called for its return.

CNN —A Spanish aid worker has been killed in eastern Ukraine after a projectile fell on the vehicle she was traveling in, according to Spanish foreign minister José Manuel Albares. The woman has been named by Spanish public broadcaster RTVE as Emma Igual, the director of an NGO named “Road to Relief” which focuses on evacuating civilians from the Ukrainian frontline. In the post, the NGO said a Canadian volunteer named Anthony “Tonko” Ihnat was also killed in the attack, which CNN has not been able to independently verify. The remaining passengers, according to the NGO, are German medical volunteer Ruben Mawick and Swedish volunteer Johan Mathias Thyr. He added that they have been given medical assistance, with one hospitalized with head and limb injuries.

MADRID, Nov 25 (Reuters) - Spain and the European Commision have sent Britain a proposal to keep the Gibraltar land border open as part of a definitive solution settling the post-Brexit status of the enclave, the Spanish foreign ministry said on Friday. Spain, Britain and the European Union agreed on Dec. 31, 2020, hours before Britain's full exit from the bloc, that Gibraltar would remain part of EU agreements such as the Schengen Area and Spain would police the port and the airport, pending a definitive solution. "This requires Spain to take control, on behalf of the Schengen area, of Gibraltar's external borders and, to this end, to be able to exercise certain functions and powers necessary to protect the integrity and security of the Schengen area," it added. About 15,000 people commute daily from Spain to Gibraltar, which has a population of about 32,000. Spain has agreed to put aside the issue of its sovereignty claim over Gibraltar to focus on the opportunity to keep the border open, the Foreign Minister said.
