But at Krasota, a fine-dining restaurant in Dubai, nothing is what it seems. This dish, from the recipe to the wall projection to the deep fake video of Bocuse, was designed by artificial intelligence (AI). It’s one of eight courses in “Imaginary Futures,” a multisensory dining experience at Krasota. For its AI scenario, Krasota’s co-founders — digital artist Anton Nenashev, chef Vladimir Mukhin, and entrepreneur Boris Zarkov — ceded control to technology. “Any technology that interferes with the social aspects of dining will not succeed,” such as headsets or goggles, says Spence.

Samantha Coxe's business idea came from a relatable experience: lying to her dentist about flossing regularly. Coxe sought $250,000 for 5% of her company, which brought in "about $900,000 in sales" over the 12 months prior to filming, she said. The show's investor judges tried out the Flaus flosser, calling it "cool" and complimenting its peppermint flavor — but they wanted to learn more about the numbers. It costs us about $10 to make," Coxe told them. Right now, it's built for adults — but Coxe said a version for kids is "the next product we're coming out with."

CNN —The “Sonic the Hedgehog” movies weren’t particularly good, but they had Jim Carrey and made a lot of money, so inevitably, there’s more. Lacking Carrey to help carry the load, “Knuckles,” spun out of that game-to-screen universe, isn’t just bad, but a next-level degree of bad, starting with the puzzling question of for whom this six-episode Paramount+ series was made. Despite only six half-hour episodes to complete the trek from points A to B, “Knuckles” goes nowhere fast and doesn’t seem to be in much of a hurry to get anywhere. “I do not make jokes,” Knuckles tells Wade. “Knuckles” premieres April 26 on Paramount+.

While some reviews did laud Swift’s latest offering, the album failed to dazzle a healthy branch of critics. Had Swift’s run as a brilliant pop star finally run its course? It was with those reviews in mind that I hit play last Friday afternoon and visited “The Tortured Poets Department” for myself. Initially, “Tortured Poets” failed to resonate with me. That is because it takes more than a day to get one’s arms around a 31-track album like “Tortured Poets.” Swift’s album demands time to be fully appreciated.

Final Grade: 8.4/10"The Tortured Poets Department" includes 16 standard-edition tracks. We don't listen to Swift's music because it necessarily is true. Corny as some moments may be, this is a marvelously deranged pop album. On "Poets," Swift doesn't exactly break with her well-established, commercial-friendly conventions — but she does toy with her audience in interesting ways. "The Tortured Poets Department" won't be everyone's cup of tea.

Taylor Swift's new album "The Tortured Poets Department" will arrive on Friday, April 19. The quiet rollout strategy says a lot about Swift's stature in the pop-music landscape. Die-hard fans say it's a masterpiece, destined to win Swift her fifth Grammy Award for album of the year. The aforementioned fans who insist "Poets" will dominate charts and break records have no idea what the album sounds like. The particulars of each rollout strategy are rendered irrelevant, dwarfed by the all-consuming enormity of her own personal news cycle.

The artist was collecting material for a sonic and sculptural installation that will be presented in the Nigeria Pavilion at this year’s Venice Biennale. The event, one of the art world’s most important, opens for previews next week and to the public on April 20. Okoyomon’s steel-framed structure, erected in a courtyard, imagines a kind of radio tower, decked with bells and colonized by creeping vines. Motion sensors on the tower activate a soundtrack: It will play in the courtyard and also online, for anyone to tune in. It mixes poems by Okoyomon with music and passages from those interviews, whose respondents range from fellow artists to “strangers, someone’s cook, someone’s auntie,” Okoyomon said.

Amazon is resuming construction on a 42-story office tower in the Seattle suburb of Bellevue, the company said Thursday, after 22 floors of the building sat unfinished since 2022. In December, Amazon opened the first half of the 42-story office tower in Bellevue, dubbed "Sonic," and moved about 1,000 employees into the building. Amazon has continued to secure office space outside of Seattle, where it's headquartered. The tower, its largest, will have about 1 million square feet of office space. That means that, aside from basic safety guidelines, most of the rules of superyachting are unwritten. Superyachts are expensive to build and expensive to maintain. For a $100 million yacht, that's at least $10 million yearly going to crew, regular maintenance, insurance, fuel, and dockage. So, the most important unspoken rule of superyachting is actually that the only thing better than owning a superyacht is knowing someone else who does.

The sonic palette of "Cowboy Carter" is more diverse than its title may suggest. "Unwieldy as it is, it displays its author's ability to bend musical styles to her will, be they country, hip-hop or the baroque post-psychedelic easy listening that seems to lurk beneath the vocal gymnastics of My Rose. If the results don't quite hold together, 'Cowboy Carter' still proves Beyoncé is impressively capable of doing whatever she wants." — Helen Brown, The Independent"'Cowboy Carter,' however, is more than a genre-trapping production. It's a deep stylistic smorgasbord that gets scattershot in the final third of the album's 27 tracks (several of them interludes) with trap beats and fiddles vying for the front row."

With the release of “Cowboy Carter,” Beyoncé’s eighth solo album and the one that finds her exploring — and testing — the boundaries of country music, much of the early conversation has centered on whether the country music industry would rally around her. Rather than being feted with a welcome party, Beyoncé has been met largely with shrugs. Beyoncé is Black, and a woman, two groups that contemporary Nashville has consistently marginalized and shortchanged. Contemporary mainstream country music often feels like a closed loop of white male storytelling. Which is why whether or not Beyoncé and Nashville can find common cause is, in every way, a red herring.
