The In-n-Out logo is displayed on the front of an In-n-Out restaurant on October 28, 2021 in Pleasant Hill, California. The new ranking doesn't surprise LaShawn Davis, a leadership and workplace culture expert who founded and runs consulting firm The HR Plug. Davis has worked in human resources for more than a decade, and says it's clear why In-N-Out Burger rivals those tech companies when it comes to leadership and culture. "It starts with the CEO," Davis tells CNBC Make It. In-N-Out's CEO is Linsi Snyder, 42, who took over her family's business at age 27 after a series of family deaths.

Cavill began his stint as Superman with a $300,000 upfront paydayHenry Cavill as Superman in "Man of Steel." Warner Bros. PicturesCavill found instant stardom when he was cast as Superman for Zack Snyder's 2013 movie "Man of Steel." The movie would go on to make over $670 million worldwide, and though Cavill might have gotten a little taste of what the movie took in after all the money was counted, at the start, he received $300,000 upfront, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Not bad, as some who have put on superhero tights for the first time have recieved much less. Chris Hemsworth was paid just $150,000 for the first Thor movie.

Leonardo DiCaprio was in talks to star in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," director Zack Snyder said. If DiCaprio had taken the role, it would have broken his "no superhero movies" rule. AdvertisementLeonardo DiCaprio was one of the actors in talks to play Lex Luthor in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," director Zack Snyder said. He followed it up with "Batman v Superman" in 2015, which pits Batman (Ben Affleck) against Superman (Henry Cavill), while Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) pulls the strings from the shadows and experiments with Kryptonian technology. I think DiCaprio, he had a lot of great ideas actually just in the meeting.

Read previewHenry Cavill has moved past his scrapped Superman return and onto new projects, but he can still crack jokes about what could have been. In his introductory remarks before a screening of his new Guy Ritchie movie "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" attended by Business Insider, Cavill made a subtle dig at his Man of Steel drama with DC Studios and WB. While praising his collaboration with Ritchie, Cavill noted that he'd worked with the director before, when he had a lead role in the 2015 spy film "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." I will, after all, not be returning as Superman," Cavill wrote. He also reunited with Ritchie already for the director's upcoming 2025 film "In the Grey," which will also re-team him with his "Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" costar Eiza González.

That was the biggest challenge, particularly given what was going on in the world. Would you say sometimes the biggest challenge is — and I have it — imposter syndrome? I think that's probably the biggest thing is that, you know, CEO or any other role, you're not one person; you're not in it yourself. Campbell Soup is acquiring the parent company of Rao's pasta sauce for $2.7 billion. Fans of the product are going on social media to mourn the end of Rao's saucy goodness. The social media backlash has driven the company's CEO to say they won't "touch the sauce." But within hours of the announcement on Tuesday, social media was rife with fans concerned about the fate of their beloved sauce. "I appreciate all the encouragement on social media, but we are not going to change it," he said, referring to the pasta sauce.

Campbell Soup CEO Mark Clouse told CNBC's Jim Cramer on Monday that his company's acquisition of Rao's sauce maker Sovos Brands is one of the best growth stories in the food business. Along with Rao's, Sovos also owns yogurt brand Noosa and frozen food brand Michael Angelo's. However, the premium Italian sauce brand is Sovos' money maker, representing 69% of its adjusted net sales in 2022, the company said. Clouse said the acquisition was an opportunity to drive Sovos' household penetration, or the portion of households reached by the products. He said the business is currently at 14% household penetration, while the benchmark for a premium brand is around 20%.

Foreign direct investment is also picking up. That investment is on top of the reshoring boom that is already underway , as U.S. companies return operations back home, partly to ensure the safety of supply chains. More than 101,000 jobs were created by reshoring and foreign direct investment in the first quarter alone, up 11% year over year, according to the Reshoring Initiative . While Eaton is Snyder's top pick on the reshoring theme, he highlighted several other underappreciated names that stand to gain as well. Overall, auto reshoring announcements grew 30% in the second half of 2022 from the year prior, according to UBS.

Former Commanders owner Snyder fined $60 million
  + stars: | 2023-07-20 | by ( ) www.reuters.com   time to read: +3 min
July 20 (Reuters) - The National Football League has fined former Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder $60 million after an investigation into allegations of misconduct and financial improprieties, the league said on Thursday after approving his sale of the team. Goodell later expanded White's review to include alleged financial misconduct at the club, after those allegations were first raised before a Congressional committee. Johnston, a former cheerleader and marketing manager for the Commanders, told members of a House Oversight Committee that Snyder made sexual advances on her. The investigators also concluded that the Commanders withheld about $11 million in revenue, and possibly more, that should have been shared with other NFL teams. The report said it was unable to determine the total amount of improperly shielded revenues as Snyder failed to fully cooperate with the investigation.

The chain said workers must have a medical note to wear a mask in five states where it operates. "No masks shall be worn in the store or support facility unless an associate has a valid medical note exempting him or her from this requirement," the memo said. Employees must provide a valid medical note to a store manager, divisional manager, manager, or human resources, the memo said. "Without disclosing the medical diagnosis or confidential medical information, the medical note should clearly state the reason for the exemption and include the estimated duration, if applicable," the memo said. Employees who require a mask for medical reasons must wear a company-provided N-95 mask, according to the memo.

CEO of Campbell Soup Mark Clouse told CNBC's Jim Cramer on Wednesday that despite his company's mixed earnings report, he is confident that Campbell's condensed products — especially the brand's staples like chicken noodle and tomato — are timelessly profitable. Clouse said Campbell's soup sales have been better than before the pandemic, especially among millennial clientele, many of whom are getting older and starting families. Even as more people start to dine outside the home post-Covid regulations, Clouse said demand for condensed canned soup remains strong. But he added that even Campbell's leadership had questioned the relevancy of condensed soup for younger consumers. Alongside its namesake soup products, Campbell also owns several well-known food and snack lines, including Pepperidge Farm, Snyder's of Hanover, Lance, V8 and Prego.

This earnings season there was a lot of chatter about reshoring — and for UBS, Eaton stands out as the winner of the trend. Government incentives and supply chain security are among the reasons corporate America is jumping on board the booming reshoring trend , which means returning operations to companies' original country from overseas. Reshoring mentions were up 104% year over year during the latest round of earning reports, Bank of America wrote in a note Monday. "They have the broadest set of touchpoints throughout the reshoring process," UBS analyst Chris Snyder said. The U.S. reshoring projects announced so far should drive 3% to 6% market growth for the nation's electrical market over the next five to seven years, essentially doubling its previous growth, Snyder calculated.
And, for once, the success of a Marvel film could bode well for the future of its longtime adversary. On the theatrical side, DC Studios has announced five new projects that will roll out starting in 2025 with Gunn's own "Superman: Legacy." "And I think Marvel Studios, sooner rather than later, needs to tell us what's going on with Spider-Man." Jeff Bezos taps investment firm while mulling Commanders bid

[1/2] Sep 15, 2022; Kansas City, Missouri, USA; Amazon executive chairman Jeff Bezos in attendance before the Kansas City Chiefs play against the Los Angeles Chargers at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY SportsFebruary 23 - Amazon founder Jeff Bezos hired investment firm Allen & Company as he considers bidding on the Washington Commanders, the Washington Post reported Thursday. Bezos, who also owns the Washington Post, is the third-richest person in the world with a net worth of $119 billion, according to Forbes' rankings. It is presumed that he would be able to outbid any competitors should he decide he wants to buy the Commanders. Bezos did not submit an official bid before the late December date for the first round, the reports said.
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft told Fox Business that Jeff Bezos would be a "great owner." Bezos repeatedly has been mentioned as a possible buyer of the Washington Commanders. However, Commanders owner Dan Snyder reportedly is waiting for bids to cross the $7 billion mark. Also complicating a potential Bezos bid are reports that Snyder is opposed to selling the team to the man who owns the Washington Post. People close to Bezos have denied New York Post reports claiming that he could potentially sell the Washington Post in order to buy the Commanders.
DC Studios announced the first wave of movies and TV shows for the new DC universe. There are also aspects of the old DC movie universe — but it still shows promise. The slate, titled "Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters," is, to put it plainly, bizarre — and even a bit risky. If anything, it's still a bit of the old DC Extended Universe. If Gunn and Safran wanted to keep any aspects of the old DC movie universe, they picked the right ones.
Streaming services came up short at this year's Oscar nominations, announced on Tuesday. This year, it only has 15 — nine of which were for its one best-picture contender, "All Quiet on the Western Front." But the nominations also reflect the shifting streaming priorities for media and tech companies coming out of the pandemic. Only one of those four movies got an Oscar nomination — an adapted screenplay nod for "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery." Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone in "Killers of the Flower Moon," an Oscar contender for next year.
James Gunn, the co-CEO of DC Studios, said that he is focused on "hammering out the new DCU." He seemed to shoot down the possibility of a director's cut for David Ayer's "Suicide Squad." Gunn and Peter Safran are leading DC's new movie and TV efforts. Gunn, who's leading DC's movie, TV, and animation efforts with producer Peter Safran, said it's important to acknowledge fans but that he's focused on the future. The most recent DC movie, "Black Adam," hinted at the franchise's future with a cameo by Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman, but it hasn't yet proven to be a smash hit.
