CNN —The Paris Games are over, the Olympic flame that hung suspended in a cauldron above the Jardins de Tuileries extinguished, and the Olympic flag handed over to Los Angeles for the 2028 Games. Now only a mere 1,432 days away, the LA Olympics begins on July 14, 2028 with its opening ceremony and will run until July 30. So, what can we expect from the Los Angeles Olympic Games in four years’ time? Los Angeles has already hosted two Olympics, in 1932 and 1984, leaving enough infrastructure in place that there won’t be any new permanent venues built for 2028, and athletes will be housed at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), instead of a purpose-built Olympic Village. Although it isn’t yet clear exactly where each and every sport will take place in Los Angeles, organizers have already announced some of their biggest venues.

PARIS — Everywhere you looked at the 2024 Paris Games, Americans dominated. On the final day of the Games, China is leading Team USA in the medal table, with 39 golds to America’s 38. Its two golds here included the 4x100-meter medley, the first time in Olympic history that anyone had beaten the U.S. Though Russia, a longtime dominant force in the sport, was excluded from these Games, China still achieved a score that far outstripped any competitors. CNN —Britney Spears’ story is headed to the big screen. Universal has landed the rights to Spears’ bestselling memoir, “The Woman in Me,” which is being developed as a biopic of the pop star’s life, CNN has confirmed with the studio. Spears’ book was published nearly two years after she was released from her 13-year conservatorship in 2021. Britney Spears’ book “The Woman in Me” at a Barnes & Noble store in New York, 2023. The last major studio film for Spears was “Crossroads” in 2002 – a coming-of-age fan-favorite that starred Spears alongside Zoe Saldana and Taryn Manning.

NBC is upping its celebrity presence for its Olympic coverage in Paris, headlined by Snoop Dogg. “Research shows that it is a challenge to keep viewers after 10 p.m. ET,” NBC Olympics producer Rob Hyland said. But that didn’t stop the legendary rapper from putting on quite the show at the US Olympic athletics trials in Eugene, Oregon on Monday.
