The electric pickup, however, enters a fiercely competitive truck market, with automakers trying to one-up rivals with utility and features. Here are some specifications and features of the Cybertruck:RANGEThe base rear-wheel drive variant can travel an estimated 250 miles, while the all-wheel drive and "Cyberbeast" variants can travel 340 miles and 320 miles, respectively. The top two variants can travel further with an optional range extender that takes about a third of the truck's bed space.

It looks like frunk in the Ford F-150 Lightning, one of the Cybertruck's closest rivals, is way bigger. The Ford F-150 Lightning looks like it has one big edge over Tesla's upcoming Cybertruck. Judging by an unverified photo posted online and first spotted by the EV news website Electrek, the Cybertruck's frunk looks rather tiny, which may disappoint potential buyers. When I drove the F-150 Lighting last year, the truck's frunk easily handled multiple backpacks and duffels that I didn't want sliding around in the bed. Tesla's Texas factory just built its first Cybertruck, and deliveries are set to begin later this year — two years behind schedule.

About the same time, retail customers will be able to buy a well-equipped Silverado EV RST, from around $105,000. When GM announced the Silverado EV early last year, it said prices would start at $39,900. GM also is considering installing Tesla-compatible NACS chargers at its dealerships, once its vehicles begin to be equipped with NACS charging ports, Sequeira said.
