Kid Dynamite died in a car accident in Germany in 1963, leaving behind two children, including a son, Herman. Most of the more notable heirlooms, such as the mouthpiece to Kid Dynamite’s saxophone, Herman said, were donated by the family to the Amsterdam Museum.
