Thinking back to when Donald Trump was president, what one thing do you remember most about Donald Trump’s presidency? Like past presidents, Mr. Trump has enjoyed a higher approval rating of his time in office in retrospect. Some of them may have spoken about Mr. Trump generally because of the multitude of controversies during his time in office, Mr. Sides said. A handful of voters in the survey, mostly Trump supporters, looked back on the Trump years as a time of peace. In the battle over memories, the Biden campaign will be trying to remind voters of some older ones that reflect poorly on Mr. Trump.

The National Archives and Records Administration is devoted to preserving the priceless records of the United States, including the handwritten parchment from President George Washington’s era to 20th-century typewritten documents and modern electronic files. More than a million schoolchildren and adults each year come to the National Archives to view the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, while historians and other academics visit its reading rooms to pore over its broader holdings, including an estimated 13.5 billion pieces of paper, 40 million photographs and enough film to circle the earth more than three times. A quiet agency, the National Archives drew unusual attention over its monthslong effort to retrieve public records that former President Donald J. Trump was keeping at his Florida estate and club, which led to criminal charges against him. By law, government records from his White House belong to the agency.

The majestic peaks, desert blooms and geological wonders of the United States’ national parks have beckoned to billions since Yellowstone was established in 1872. Nearly 312 million people visited last year, signaling a return to prepandemic levels. Spring and summer months are particularly packed at the hundreds of sites managed by the National Park Service. To prepare for peak season at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah — essentially, an island of crimson rock spires perched at about 8,000 feet — rangers begin restoring trails and training staff before the snows even melt.

Justin Verlander is one of the game’s elite pitchers, and maybe the umpire is giving him the benefit of the doubt on this one. Regardless, it should have been called a ball. Bryce Harper was ready to trot to first base with a walk, but he ended up there anyway. Your browser does not support the video tag. ; pitch paths by The New York Times
