For more than 30 years, Gregory and Loretta Smith were regular visitors to Saratoga Springs, N.Y., traveling from their home in Rockland County on weekends and summer holidays to attend the horse races and enjoy the pace of life in this small city about three hours north of Manhattan. “We started to discuss, ‘Where do we want to put our roots down?’” Ms. Smith, 61, recalled. “And I said, ‘I want to live here. It has everything we want: a small walkable city with a good social environment, and access to nature. Prime Group failed to adequately disclose millions of dollars in real estate brokerage fees paid to a firm owned by its CEO. Prime Group did not adequately disclose to its investors that an affiliated firm was booking real estate brokerage fees related to an investment fund the group launched in 2017, the SEC said. A representative for Prime Group, which did not admit or deny the SEC's charges, declined to comment.

I’m going on a two-week hiking trip in August and am trying to figure out what to pack. We’re limited to about 33 pounds, so I need to pack light. I’d love to put together a wardrobe that’s practical, chic and wearable beyond the trip. The capsule holiday wardrobe is the holy grail of travel: an interchangeable, efficient system of dressing that in an ideal world necessitates no more than a tote and a bag that will fit in an airplane overhead bin. After a disquieting period in which seven horses died at Churchill Downs during the run-up to last week’s Kentucky Derby, horse racing is again caught up in a controversy, this one a doping case involving one of its biggest stars. On a rainy September afternoon last year, a colt named Forte eased into the starting gate of the Hopeful Stakes, an early and important race on the road to the Derby, at odds of nearly 7-1. He apparently relished the sloppy racetrack in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., unleashing a powerful kick in the stretch to win by a length. Shortly after leaving the winner’s circle, however, Forte was given a post-race drug test, which he failed but has yet to be adjudicated before New York regulators, according to two people who are familiar with the matter but are not authorized to speak about it. The positive test was for a substance used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation, according to those two people.

Franchisee Meridian Restaurants Unlimited is closing 27 Burger King locations in the US. Another Burger King franchisee, EYM King of Michigan said it will close 26 locations last month. Meridian operates over 100 Burger King locations. The Burger King operator filed for bankruptcy in March because of low sales and high inflation, among other factors. Another Burger King franchisee, TOMS King Holdings, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January for similar reasons.

Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, remained open Tuesday amid the approach of Hurricane Ian along Florida's western coast — though some surrounding Disney properties are set to temporarily close. As Hurricane Ian nears the west coast of Florida, the Walt Disney Company and Comcast's Universal Studios are preparing to close their Orlando-based theme parks for at least two days. Disney announced Tuesday that Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Magic Kingdom would be shuttered Wednesday and Thursday. According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm is headed toward Tampa and will likely pass over central Florida, where the Disney and Universal parks are located. This is not the first time in Walt Disney World's 50-year history that it has closed due to hurricanes. Most recently, in September 2019, the parks briefly closed due to the forecast path of Hurricane Dorian.
