LOS ANGELES (AP) — Another potentially dangerous “Pineapple Express” storm was expected to hit California late Saturday, bringing the threat of flooding and mudslides over the next couple of days. WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM THIS LATEST ‘PINEAPPLE EXPRESS'? The storm is forecast to move south down the Central Coast and hit the Los Angeles area with downpours, flash floods and high-elevation mountain snow beginning Sunday morning. Parts of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties will likely get hammered hardest by this storm, according to the National Weather Service. The Santa Anita racetrack in Arcadia, northeast of downtown Los Angeles, canceled its eight-race program that was scheduled for Sunday.

CNN —Golf courses, despite occupying large green spaces, are not necessarily good for the environment. Santa Barbara's Ocean Meadows golf course has been returned to its wetland state, which doubles as a flood defense for the city. Rivers and streams are often diverted or altered to make way for a golf course, but conservationists want them to flow freely. In other areas of the country, local councils are repurposing unprofitable municipal golf courses to create more natural spaces. A golf course turned nature reserve, Yalukit Willam can now be enjoyed by the Melbourne residents.

Around 2,000 bottles of wine were destroyed after a wine firm was found to be aging them illegally. The firm sank crates of wine a mile off the coast of Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara's DA office said. The disposal of the bottles was part of a plea agreement reached with Azzaretto, Hahn, and Ocean Fathoms. But the press release said the value of the destroyed bottles was likely in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. In response to an inquiry from Insider, Ocean Fathoms said that it intended to release a statement on the news shortly.

UC-Santa Barbara's Munger Hall may not be built after 13 people said it could pose health risks. The dorm — backed by a $200 million donation from Munger — was supposed to be 11-stories high with 4,500 beds across 70 square-foot bedrooms with no windows, according to the Times. Munger Hall has been criticized for its lack of windows in the bedrooms where students would live. Panelists said that Munger Hall could pose challenges to the mental and physical health of students, Vice reported. As far as the report, Munger told The Real Deal that the it's "all horseshit," adding that "it's ridiculous."
Elon Musk reinstated former President Donald Trump's Twitter account on Saturday. Though the @realDonaldTrump account is active again, several tweets from January 6 are gone. A tweet attacking Mike Pence's courage and another about the riot appear to have been removed. A transcript of Trump's tweets on January 6, 2021, compiled by the University of California Santa Barbara's American Presidency Project, suggested several posts were missing after the @realDonaldTrump account was reactivated. Representatives for Twitter and Trump did not immediately respond to Insider's requests for comment.
