Jamie Roberts is the owner of charter company Tropic Air in northern Kenya, where he jets off on rescue missions, crop sprays to ward off locusts, flies tourists to off-the-grid locations, and shows around filmmakers and scientists.
No day for Roberts is the same — he spends his time running rescue missions to taking ambitious multi-day trips to saving elephants from hyena attacks.
Roberts spends his nights planning for the next day, but he never knows what tomorrow will bring, especially during peak tourism season and over the holidays.
Jamie Roberts, 57, owns charter company Tropic Air in Nanyuki in northern Kenya.
Today, 30 years later, Tropic Air has a fleet of planes and helicopters with a dozen pilots on call, including Roberts himself.
