An attempt to reach Black Basta via its darkweb site was not immediately successful. Elliptic cofounder Tom Robinson said the massive haul made Black Basta "one of the most profitable ransomware strains of all time." "Conti was perhaps the most successful ransomware gang we've seen," Robinson said. The latest findings suggest "some of the individuals responsible are replicating its success with the Black Basta ransomware."

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico’s president on Monday defended the participation of a contingent of Russian soldiers in a military parade over the weekend. The presence of the Russian contingent in the Independence parade Saturday drew criticism because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador noted that a contingent from China also participated, and said that all the countries Mexico has diplomatic relations with were invited. López Obrador acknowledged the issue became “a scandal,” but attributed it to his ongoing spat with the news media, which he believes is against him. “The Chinese were also in the parade, and there wasn't so much outcry,” López Obrador said, noting a Russian contingent had participated in the past, although at times when that country was not actively invading its neighbor.

One Ukrainian official in Kherson stated that as Russian forces moved their equipment to the eastern bank of the river, "we destroy it." Fighting intensifiesThere were already signs on Thursday that fighting was intensifying in Kherson as Russian troops withdrew. Serhiy Khlan, a member of the Kherson Regional Council, said on Facebook that a large buildup of Russian troops had been blown up in Kakhovka in Kherson. Another Ukrainian official noted that Russia hadn't asked Ukraine to create a "green corridor," or safe route, for Russia to withdraw its troops from Kherson safely. While efforts to reoccupy Kherson might be fraught with danger, analysts say Ukraine's forces have executed a well-fought campaign to recapture Kherson from Russia.
