11 NC State to the Final Four of the 2024 NCAA men’s tournament, beating a host of highly-seeded teams on the way to a semifinal spot. The NC State star grew up around people from different backgrounds, with his grandmother running a foster home and his parents taking in other children from unstable homes. But, with Burns at center and the team’s underdog mentality, they have shocked the college basketball scene. “I was raised in a happy environment,” the NC State told reporters. While becoming an internet sensation throughout March Madness, Burns' competitve nature has helped NC State to some impressive victories.

Jonathan Ernst | ReutersThe mission of the Election Integrity Alliance, likewise, was ending election fraud. "The Election Integrity Alliance will unite groups and efforts across the nation focused on combating election fraud," the group's now-defunct website trumpeted in 2021. But Trump never publicly designated the Election Integrity Alliance as the standard bearer for the MAGA universe's election integrity efforts. AFPI also launched an election integrity effort, the Center for Election Integrity, and staffed it with former Trump White House press aide Hogan Gidley and conservative author Ken Blackwell. It even launched its own color-coded election integrity scorecard map, which looks strikingly similar to the one that the Election Integrity Alliance had created for its now-deleted website.

The primary season is about to shift into overdrive with Super Tuesday, when Republican voters in 15 states will cast their votes. Polls suggest that former President Donald Trump is very likely to win most, if not all, of these contests. I spoke with Nate Cohn, The New York Times’s chief political analyst, about when Trump’s nomination could become a lock. If the polls are right, there’s really only one scenario: Trump finding himself within easy striking distance of the nomination. Put it together, and Trump could easily win more than 90 percent of the delegates available on Super Tuesday.

Win Mcnamee | Getty ImagesFormer President Donald Trump continued his march toward the GOP nomination on Saturday, winning the Missouri caucuses and sweeping the delegate haul at a party convention in Michigan. The steep odds facing Haley were on display in Columbia, Missouri, where Republicans gathered at a church to caucus. Supporters quickly moved to one side of the room or the other, depending on whether they favored Trump or Haley. Mike Parson signed a 2022 law that, among other things, canceled the planned March 12 presidential primary. Trump prevailed twice under Missouri's old presidential primary system.

Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. President Donald Trump speaks during a campaign rally at Winthrop Coliseum ahead of the South Carolina Republican presidential primary in Rock Hill, South Carolina, U.S., February 23, 2024. An Illinois state judge on Wednesday barred Donald Trump from appearing on the Illinois' Republican presidential primary ballot because of his role in the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, but she delayed her ruling from taking effect in light of an expected appeal by the former U.S. president. Cook County Circuit Judge Tracie Porter sided with Illinois voters who argued that the former president should be disqualified from the state's March 19 primary ballot and its Nov. 5 general election ballot for violating the anti-insurrection clause of the U.S. Constitution's 14th Amendment. Colorado and Maine earlier removed Trump from their state ballots after determining he is disqualified under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. Trump gave an incendiary speech to supporters beforehand, telling them to go to the Capitol and "fight like hell."

Ms. Haley responded instantly, “I will never give up,” and a big cheer went up. These crowds tend to have — as a percentage, not in real numbers — more women and more couples, especially in their 60s and 70s, than the crowds at Trump events. And the most reliable response from any crowd Ms. Haley speaks to involves just the prospect of her quitting the race. This is a real emotion,” she said in a brief interview on Friday. It’s a real concern that they have with Donald Trump and Joe Biden.”

Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. President Donald Trump speaks during a campaign rally at Winthrop Coliseum ahead of the South Carolina Republican presidential primary, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, U.S., February 23, 2024. Barbour said support for the resolutions among RNC members is growing but he does not yet have the needed cosponsors, and any resolutions would ultimately be nonbinding. Lara Trump suggested earlier in the week that GOP voters would support the committee paying her father-in-law's legal bills as he faces a raft of criminal and civil indictments. Trump senior campaign adviser Chris LaCivita, whom the former president wants to install as the party's chief operating officer, told reporters Friday night that the RNC would not pay Trump's legal bills. "I believe RNC funds should be spent solely on winning elections, on political expenses, not legal bills."

FORT LAWN, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina state Sen. Mike Fanning likes to talk to people. Politically, South Carolina varies from its neighbors. No explanation is offered for the inertia, which leaves South Carolina and Wyoming as the only states in the nation without such a law. South Carolina Republicans, meanwhile, have taken advantage of the changing national priorities of both parties. They took over the South Carolina Senate in 2000 by getting a Democrat to switch parties.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Rams cornerback Derion Kendrick could play on Sunday, less than a week after he was arrested and charged with two gun offenses. Kendrick returned to practice Friday, and coach Sean McVay described the second-year pro as “remorseful and regretful” for the disturbance he caused to the Rams (3-3). McVay said he hasn't decided whether Kendrick, who has started every game this season, will suit up when Los Angeles hosts Pittsburgh (3-2) on Sunday. Kendrick was away from the Rams’ training complex until Thursday, when he returned and spoke at length to McVay. The coach said he emerged from the conversation believing Kendrick can use his latest arrest "as a learning opportunity.”“I trust this kid’s heart,” McVay added.

WASHINGTON, Feb 27 (Reuters) - 3D Systems Corp on Monday agreed to pay $2.77 million in penalties to settle with the U.S. Commerce Department for illegally exporting to China controlled design drawings for military electronics and spacecraft, the Commerce Department said. In addition to the Commerce settlement, the company also entered into agreements with the Department of State and the Department of Justice, the agency said in a statement. Rock Hill, South Carolina-based 3D Systems, which provides 3D printing and other services to customers in the U.S. and abroad, emailed design documents, blueprints and technical specification to Quickparts.com, Inc., its then-subsidiary's office in China for price quotes, the Commerce Department said. The emails included design drawings for military electronics and the development and operation of spacecraft that required U.S. export licenses to send to Guangzhou City. 3D Systems did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Dec 14 (Reuters) - Redwood Materials is the latest company to set up shop in South Carolina's growing community of electric vehicle and battery manufacturers, the Carson City, Nevada-based firm said on Wednesday. Redwood said it will build a $3.5 billion battery materials campus in Ridgefield, about 30 miles (48.28 km) northwest of Charleston, that will recycle, refine and remanufacture cathode and anode materials such as nickel, cobalt, lithium and copper. The Ridgefield facility is expected to supply battery materials to Ford Motor (F.N) and SK On in Kentucky, Toyota Motor (7203.T) in North Carolina and Volvo and Envision AESC in South Carolina. Volvo is building a battery plant next to its assembly facility in Ridgeville and BMW is partnering with Envision AESC on a $700 million battery plant in Woodruff. A second North American “battery belt” is springing up in Canada, in Becancour, Quebec, on the St. Lawrence River.
