Xpeng has received a "significant" amount of orders for its newly launched G6 pure electric crossover, president Brain Gu told reporters on Wednesday. Xpeng, which saw first-half sales drop by 40%, will start the delivery of its G6 compact crossover this month with a starting price 20% lower than Tesla's best-selling model of Model Y. With G6, Xpeng also introduced its most advanced autonomous driving capabilities into the category of EVs priced at 250,000 yuan ($34,500.37) or below, Gu said. The Denza N7 is set to begin deliveries in about two weeks, according to the company. In another page from Nio's playbook, the Denza N7 launch in Beijing was followed by a live music performance. Its prior electric model, the D9 multi-purpose vehicle, claims more than 10,000 sales a month since since March. At the time Zeng said he expected competition in China's new energy vehicle market would move into the 400,000 yuan to 500,000 yuan price range and above. The 100,000 yuan to 200,000 yuan price range has been the primary price range for cars in China, Zeng said.

The sale comes as Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger said they don't want to compete against Elon Musk. The share sale came just days before Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger said they don't want to compete with Elon Musk. Berkshire's current BYD stake is worth just over $3 billion. The comments came in response to a question about whether the two investors believe Elon Musk overestimates himself. Berkshire originally purchased its BYD stake in 2008 for just $232 million.
Lucid Group said Thursday that buyers of certain versions of its pricey Air electric luxury sedan will be eligible for a $7,500 "credit." Lucid said that customers who buy Air Touring and Air Grand Touring models in "certain configurations" before March 31 will be eligible for the $7,500 discount. The Lucid Air is built in Arizona, but at a starting price of $87,400 it's far too expensive to qualify for the federal tax credits. The trims that Lucid is discounting are even pricier: The Air Touring starts at $107,400; the Air Grand Touring at $138,000. As of Thursday morning, company's website listed 15 Air Grand Tourings and seven Air Tourings available for immediate delivery.
Xpeng, a Chinese electric-vehicle maker that competes with Tesla, unveiled a new flying-car prototype. The X3 is a car with four rotors on it, enabling it to switch between driving and flying. Xpeng, the Chinese electric-vehicle maker that rivals Tesla, unveiled a new flying car prototype in late October internally named the X3. Most "flying car" ideas from startups are heavy on the flying, light on the car. "Designed for both air flight and road driving, the flying car conveniently features a sleek rotor fold-away system for seamless conversation between driving and flying," the company said in a press release.
