CNN —After a turbulent year for the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants that saw both its 2023 titleholders resign for the first time ever, both events are returning this week to Los Angeles to crown two new winners. To vie for the titles, the 51 contestants from each competition will showcase themselves through multiple rounds: swimsuit (Miss USA) or athletic wear (Miss Teen USA), evening gown, and an onstage interview, as well as a preliminary interview with the judges. Jan 31 (Reuters) - Big investors are dipping their toes into crypto waters again after a bumper month for bitcoin. Bitcoin was far and away the biggest draw, with funds tracking it responsible for $116 million of that. They said shorter-term investors were selling their bitcoin at a profit, while longer-term "HODlers" were still sticking with their coin and not contributing to selling pressure. Additionally, bitcoin's "dominance" or share of the total crypto market has hovered around 41% this month, levels not seen since last July. Analysts at Citi said this mimicked a similar jump in bitcoin dominance in April 2019, when a bitcoin rally marked a crypto market bottom.

Up to 26 millions households were priced out of buying a home in the past year, per new research. Rising mortgage rates combined with higher rents is locking out millions of first-time buyers. Prospective first-time buyers are also facing rising rents, Evangelou said, reducing the amount they are able to save for a deposit. Evangelou said that had contributed to first-time buyers making up 26% of total buyers now, down from 34% a year ago. But she points out that it's already a slightly better time to buy due to the dip in mortgage rates, with the median mortgage payment $140 lower than last month.
