Alex Guarnaschelli's deviled-egg recipe called for basic ingredients. Dave Kotinsky/Getty Images for NYCWFFGuarnaschelli's recipe is similar to the classic eggs I grew up eating. I had most of the ingredients needed in my kitchen already, so I knew I could whip these up in no time. The ingredients included eggs, mayonnaise, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, white-wine vinegar, paprika, lemon juice, hot sauce, and salt. Since the ingredients are simple, these are also the cheapest eggs I made.

Ben Higgins tried to parlay his Bachelor success into a political career, but the campaign didn't last long. The focus on Bachelor Nation also makes sense given the franchise's viewership is dominated by one of the most crucial swing votes of recent elections: white women. In the past two presidential elections, white women were the most closely split demographic subgroup tracked by major exit polls. In 2016, Donald Trump won over 52% of white women against Hillary Clinton's 43%, exit polls found, while Trump bested Joe Biden in 2020 among white women 55% to 44%. The overlap between the swingiest demographic and the "Bachelor" audience suggests Bachelor Nation has value to those who seek to lead our nation.

To those who know Gunn through her much-mocked Olympics performance, the ranking will likely come as a surprise. As such, the World DanceSport Federation — the governing body that produces the ranking — issued an explanation to go along with the news. The ranking, the body explained, does not take into account scores notched up at the Paris Olympics, nor at their qualifying rounds. Mark Kolbe/Getty ImagesThe current WDSF world No.2, Japanese breaker Riko, also gained 1,000 points in a qualifying competition.

Australian Olympic breakdancer Rachael Gunn, who went viral during the Paris Games, was ranked number one in the world by the sport's governing body. "Raygun ranked world number one after Paris Olympics controversy — how funny is this? The Paris Games as well as the Olympic qualifier events in Shanghai, China, and Budapest, Hungary, did not contribute to the ranking. "In alignment with the Olympic Qualification System, ranking events were intentionally not held between 31 December 2023 and the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Gunn defended her Olympic performance in a recent interview with the Australian current affairs show "The Project," saying that she wanted to "bring out some Australian moves and themes."

I had to use an immersion blender to make Guy Fieri's sauce. Then the recipe called for minced garlic and ginger, apple-cider vinegar, frozen raspberries, raspberry jam, and molasses. Once it was done cooking, I used an immersion blender to puree the sauce, and then a sieve to catch any raspberry seeds. This part wasn't fun because the sauce was relatively thick, so it took a while to drip through the sieve. And then my sieve broke, so couldn't get every seed out of the sauce, which ended up being fine.

Videos of her breaking went viral, drawing online ridicule and speculation as to whether the whole thing was a hoax. But Gunn was uncowed, re-enacting the kangaroo hop as she celebrated with fellow Australian Olympians ahead of the closing ceremony on Sunday. She also wore a green-and-yellow Australian Olympic tracksuit rather than the streetwear favored by her rivals. Amid the criticism, Gunn’s performance has also drawn an outpouring of support from the international breaking community and others who lauded her originality, including the Australian prime minister. The World DanceSport Federation, the international governing body for breaking, said it had offered her mental health support.

UK: Assisted dying bill introduced in House of Lords

London CNN —An emotional, accelerating campaign to allow assisted dying for terminally ill adults in Britain has reached parliament, with activists hoping the country will become one of few to legalize the process. Opponents of legalization have argued that those small figures represent a limited appetite for assisted dying in the UK, but there are other pressures at play too. But some among the country’s lawmakers, who will ultimately decide the fate of the assisted dying law, say there is more to consider. For Starmer, the assisted dying bill has the potential to disrupt those intentions. But legalizing assisted dying wasn’t in Labour’s manifesto or in its King’s Speech, limiting the opportunities for it to ever reach MPs.

Kathy Hochul made the abrupt decision to cancel congestion pricing in New York City last month, transit leaders had already allocated more than a half a billion dollars to get the long-awaited tolling program off the ground. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority entered into a $556 million contract for cameras, software and other tools that would have been used to detect vehicles entering the planned tolling zone south of 60th Street in Manhattan. With the program indefinitely suspended, that money is, at least for the moment, wasted. Congestion pricing was designed to rein in traffic and pollution while improving travel speeds in some of the world’s most crowded streets. The money raised from the first-in-the-nation program would have generated $1 billion annually for the M.T.A., which would have used it to pay for critical upgrades and improvements to the city’s transit network.

Kathy Hochul said she paused New York City’s congestion pricing program for economic reasons: The tolls could hurt the region’s recovery from the coronavirus pandemic more than they helped. But a new analysis of the transit budget gap left in the wake of the program’s suspension this month points to possibly deeper pain: the potential loss of thousands of high-paying jobs throughout the state over the next few years. At least 101,500 jobs could be lost in New York if the state does not find another way to fill the multibillion-dollar hole left in the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s budget, according to a report released Wednesday by Reinvent Albany, a watchdog group. A majority of those jobs would have been created by private companies that work with the authority to build new trains and buses and install new propulsion systems, among other things. On average, workers in these fields earn over $100,000 a year, said Rachael Fauss, a senior policy adviser with Reinvent Albany.
