Two jade rings in particular, passed down by her mother, serve as a direct line and source of comfort. Ms. Kwon, an award-winning author, wanted to be a Christian pastor or a religious recluse when she was growing up. She had, as she put it, “what felt like a conversation with the Lord going.” But she lost her faith as a teenager. Now, in her writing, Ms. Kwon explores the challenge of questioning long-held beliefs. Her first novel, “The Incendiaries,” tackled religion, while her second, “Exhibit,” out last month, is about hidden desire.

"What we have right now is a risk rally, and bitcoin is also benefiting big time from falling yields. Halving is a process designed to slow the release of bitcoin, and bitcoin prices have typically rallied following halvings. The stock rose nearly 62% in November, even as the crypto exchange reported a decline in third-quarter trading volumes. The ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF , which tracks bitcoin futures, rose 7.7% and looked set to touch an over one-year high, while the ProShares Short Bitcoin Strategy ETF that allows traders to bet on a fall in bitcoin futures fell 7.7%. However, the recent rally has sent bitcoin up more than 150% so far in 2023, on course for its best annual performance since 2020.

In the letter, the partners said they have spoken with potential strategic and financial buyers who have "indicated interest in participating in a company-initiated review process." A Jana spokesman declined to comment and a representative for Frontier did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Shares of bitcoin miners - whose profitability improves as bitcoin climbs - including Riot Platforms (RIOT.O), Marathon Digital (MARA.O) and TeraWulf (WULF.O) rose between 1.7% and 4%. "Higher crypto prices should lead to a boost in transaction volume and transaction revenues for Coinbase as we enter 2024," said CFRA Research analyst Michael Elliott. However, Elliott cautioned the crypto exchange faces both legal challenges and new regulations that are likely to take time to play out and will continue to result in volatility for the stock. The ETF approval bets have helped counter latest concerns after Changpeng Zhao, the founder of the world's largest crypto exchange, stepped down and pleaded guilty to breaking U.S. anti-money laundering laws. Nov 30 (Reuters) - Amkor Technology (AMKR.O) said Thursday it will spend $2 billion to build a new advanced semiconductor packaging and test facility in Arizona that will package and test chips for Apple (AAPL.O) produced at a nearby Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC (2330.TW) facility. Amkor said the facility will be the largest U.S. outsourced advanced packaging facility. Earlier this month, the Commerce Department disclosed details of its plans to spend $3 billion for advanced packaging. Advanced packaging is a high-tech method of placing multiple chips with a variety of functions in a densely interconnected “package." Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo has made advanced packaging a priority and said earlier this year "the U.S. will develop multiple high-volume advanced packaging facilities, and become a global leader in packaging technologies."

Nov 22 (Reuters) - Unions representing hospitality staff in Las Vegas said on Wednesday that workers employed at Wynn Resorts (WYNN.O) have voted in favor to ratify a new five-year contract, days after similar moves by its competitors Caesars Entertainment (CZR.O) and MGM Resorts International (MGM.N). Nov 22 (Reuters) - The WanaBana Apple Cinnamon Puree, a product potentially contaminated with lead, was still being sold at Dollar Tree (DLTR.O) stores despite a recall that began last month, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on Wednesday. In response to the FDA's Wednesday announcement, Dollar Tree said it had already instructed stores to remove the product from shelves and that they no longer sell that flavor on its website. The product was available nationally through multiple retailers including Amazon, Dollar Tree and other online outlets, the FDA said. Wanabana LLC, the maker of the product, and Amazon.com (AMZN.O) did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment. The FDA on Oct. 31 shared the results with Wanabana, which then initiated a voluntary recall.

Fossil fuel stocks have boomed (.dMIWO0OG00PUS) since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 sent fossil fuel prices soaring, leaving the performance of environmental, social and governance (ESG) funds lagging. Pure-play renewable energy stocks such as Orsted (ORSTED.CO) and First Solar (FSLR.O) have also fallen sharply this year as higher interest rates and inflationary pressures squeeze profitability. European oil and gas companies including BP (BP.L) and Shell (SHEL.L) have increased renewable energy investment, although they are expanding production of dirtier energy too. Sustainability-minded investors, Müller said, needed more disclosures from firms about their plans for shifting to lower-carbon models, and regulatory clarity on labelling transition-focused funds. REUTERS/Bridget Bennett/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsSAN FRANCISCO, Nov 16 (Reuters) - The FBI warned organizations to guard against the Scattered Spider hacking group, which has breached dozens of American organizations over the past year, stealing their sensitive data for extortion. The statement, issued jointly with the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, sheds new light into how these hackers operate. The FBI and CISA urged critical infrastructure organisations to implement a series of security measures they recommended and urged victim organisations to share information about the hacks with the agencies. Everything from a sample ransom note, communications with the hackers, their cryptocurrency wallet information, or samples of malicious files could be useful, they said. "FBI and CISA do not encourage paying ransom as payment does not guarantee victim files will be recovered," they said, adding that ransom payments may embolden the hackers into going after more targets.
