But Amazon, which has also spent four years opening Amazon Fresh stores and trying to build its grocery delivery business, hasn't been as disruptive to existing players like Walmart and Kroger as some feared it would be. To better serve the middle, Amazon could consider acquiring a grocery chain that already exists to boost its store network, Grewal said. Besides selling groceries, Amazon could use the stores to fill pick-up and delivery orders, much as they already do with Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods. AdvertisementOthers have also said that acquiring more stores could give Amazon the boost it needs to succeed in the grocery business. And while few shoppers would save their old grocery receipts, using apps like Instacart keep your order history for years. Now, some customers are using those past orders to discover inflation's highly personal impact on them. AdvertisementIn a video on TikTok, White shared his experience using Instacart's "reorder items" function, explaining how a $35 order skyrocketed to more than $62 in the past five years. (Several commenters suggested this was due to the app replacing some out-of-stock items with more expensive offerings from third-party sellers.) White told BI the response to his video, which has nearly a million views, has been very polarized.

CNN —Dozens of cities along the US coastline are sinking at alarming rates, leaving them far more exposed to devastating flooding from sea level rise than previously thought, scientists reported Wednesday. Cities on the East Coast where sinking land is exacerbating sea level rise include New York City and Atlantic City; Virginia Beach; Charleston, South Carolina; and Savannah, Georgia. As much as a third of sea level rise in this region over the next three decades could come from the sinking effect, the report found. This is a particular problem in areas where new coastal land has been created over the years by backfilling with sediment. Additionally, researchers say most sea level rise studies make projections for the end of the century, which “is viewed as too far (away) to begin planning,” Shirzaei said.

Instacart shoppers often end up with free groceries when they can't deliver an order. But for some shoppers, those kinds of last-minute obstacles are a perk: Instacart often lets shoppers keep all or some of the groceries for free. "We got all these groceries for free because we couldn't locate the right address," the poster says in the video. Instacart issues shoppers a debit card to pay for items. That means Instacart carries the cost of canceled or undeliverable orders.

There were others who funded aspects of the election overthrow effort. The Rule of Law Defense Fund, an organization associated with the Republican Attorneys General Association, for instance, was involved in promoting the Jan. 6 rally on the Ellipse. Other donors include Julie Jenkins Fancelli, a Publix heiress who reportedly gave about $300,000 to rally organizers. It includes an appendix entitled “The Big Rip-off,” which explains how the Trump campaign raised enormous sums off its claims that the election was stolen.
