Match said in a filing in San Francisco federal court on Tuesday that it had resolved its allegations against Google. In a statement, Google said it was “pleased to reach a settlement agreement with Match Group.” Google also recently settled related antitrust claims from U.S. states and consumers for undisclosed terms. Epic and Match accused Google of maintaining an unlawful monopoly in the distribution of Android apps. Google is separately facing U.S. and state antitrust allegations in other U.S. courts over its advertising technology business and its dominance in the web search industry.

You can remove your phone, email and home address from the Google Search that appears when you enter your name. The feature can be a useful tool for scrubbing some of your personal information off of your Google Search, however it does not mean that the information is removed from all of the internet or that particular website. It will still exist, but it won't appear when you search your name so it will be more difficult for people to find that information. If you are just looking to take down your phone number, email or home address, here's how to do it:

Most significantly, publishers want to be compensated for the content on which Google and other AI companies train their AI tools – a major sticking point around AI. In late September Google announced a new tool, called Google-Extended, that gives publishers the option to block their content from being used by Google to train its AI models. Publishers want clicks to secure advertisers, and showing up in Google search is key to their business. When given the option, websites are blocking their content from being used for AI if doing so doesn’t impact search, according to exclusive data from AI content detector Originality.ai.

Major technology companies like Google have been investing heavily in generative AI and racing to incorporate it into their products. Google said its new policy applies to software, including its Vertex AI development platform and Duet AI system, which generates text and images in Google Workspace and Cloud programs. The press release did not mention Google's more well-known generative AI chatbot program Bard. The new wave of lawsuits over generative AI has generally targeted the companies that own the systems, including Google, and not individual end users. AI defendants have said that the use of training data scraped from the internet to train their systems qualifies as fair use under U.S. copyright law.

Companies Empresa Pública de Hidrocarburos del Ecuador FollowQUITO, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Ecuador's state oil company, Petroecuador, said on Saturday that it was losing an estimated 3,500 barrels of crude oil a day due to "vandalism" at two of its blocks, referring to recent Indigenous protests at the site. The Indigenous community argues it was not consulted about the new operation of the blocks by Petroecuador and made other social demands. Petroecuador took over production of the blocks at the start of this year. Petroecuador's production is around 393,000 barrels of oil per day, according to official data. Talking to a local media outlet on Monday, Santos acknowledged Petroecuador is not audited by an international firm and its financial reporting does not comply with international standards. Petroecuador began a tendering process to appoint an auditor in August, it said. "As the process is financed with international cooperation funds, the hiring must follow the guidelines established by the international organization," the company added. Former Energy Minister Xavier Vera resigned at the end of October over a separate investigation into allegations that he took bribes in exchange for jobs at Petroecuador. WALPAC donated almost 50-50 to Democratic and Republican federal candidates for the midterms. Walmart's PAC donated to 41 candidates who denied the 2020 presidential election results, ProPublica found. Of that, about 53% went to Republican candidates, and 47% went to Democrats. Some members of Congress, particularly among Democrats, also reject any corporate PAC contribution — WALPAC or otherwise — as a matter of practice. However, the company did donate a significant amount of money to candidates who voted against certifying the 2020 presidential election results.
But we think Club members should wait until the dust settles before taking any action. Even Google Search, the greatest advertising platform in the world, was not immune to some macroeconomic pressures. Revenue breakdown Google Advertising revenue increased 2.5% year-over-year, to $54.48 billion, missing the consensus estimate of $56.59 billion. Google Search & Other revenue rose 4%, to $39.54 billion, below the $40.93 billion forecasted by analysts, driven by a solid performance in travel and retail. Still, we see no reason to doubt the resilience of Google Search due to its strong measurability and high return on investment.
Data from Bloomberg Economics shows that El Salvador tops its ranking of emerging market countries that are vulnerable to a debt default. Another survey by the institute found that 76 out of 100 small and medium-size enterprises in El Salvador do not accept bitcoin payments. But in 2022, recent data shows that only 1.6% of remittances were sent to El Salvador via digital wallets. Meanwhile, its other national currency, bitcoin, is revered for the fact that it, too, is impossible to mint out of thin air. "Bitcoin doesn't solve any of El Salvador's important economic problems," he added.
