CNN —Britain’s royal family has publicly wished Prince Harry a happy birthday, their first such message since 2021 to mark the milestone of him turning 40. A post was shared on X and Instagram with the message: “Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!”It was accompanied by an image of Harry smiling, and a birthday cake emoji. Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, have been living in California since 2020 after stepping down as working members of the British monarchy. Interactions between Harry and other senior royals have been scant: Harry visited Charles following the King’s cancer diagnosis earlier this year but spent just 45 minutes in his company. Harry is thought to be spending his 40th with the Duchess of Sussex and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The inaugural Invictus Games, an international sporting competition for wounded veterans and members of the military, was held in London in 2014. The next Invictus Games will be held in Vancouver and Whistler in Canada in February 2025.

It was not immediately clear if the prince will meet with his relatives during the trip next month. However, a royal source said there were no plans for Harry to meet his brother Prince William while he’s in London. The Sussexes emigrated to the United States after stepping away from royal duties in 2020. While the royal family are an institution, they are also a family. Prince Harry last saw his father when he attended the coronation at Westminster Abbey last May. The cancer diagnosis only 17 months into Charles’ reign has also become a moment of unity for the royal family.

Dutch translations of Omid Scobie's book "Endgame" have been pulled from shelves, reports say. Due to a publishing error, the book reportedly named a royal said to have made racist remarks. Author Omid Scobie told Dutch media he did not name anyone in any version of the book he wrote. Scobie's latest book, "Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival," explores the current state of the British monarchy and the dynamics between members of the royal family. "There's never been a version that I've produced that has names in it," Scobie told RTL Boulevard.

The King’s youngest son returned to London without his wife, Meghan, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Prince Harry was among the first royals to enter the Abbey. "Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th," the palace spokesperson said. "The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet." Asked in one interview in January whether he would attend the coronation if given an invitation, Harry said: "There's a lot that can happen between now and then. Spokespeople for King Charles and Prince William have declined to comment.
