CNN —Major League Baseball (MLB) plans to modify its uniforms ahead of the 2025 season following complaints from players and fans, according to ESPN. “A lot of the rhetoric is confirmation that the pants are see-through,” said Clark, according to ESPN back in February. “Universal concern,” Clark added, “is the pant.”The MLBPA declined to comment, and MLB deferred comment to the players association. The union did place blame on Nike and its debut of the new Nike Vapor Premier uniform this season. “We cautioned Nike against various changes when they previewed them in 2022, particularly regarding pants,” the memo added.

WASHINGTON (AP) — More than a dozen sports leagues and players associations, from the NFL to the PGA Tour, have promised the White House that they will provide more opportunities for people to be physically active and learn about nutrition and adopting healthy lifestyles. The White House announced Thursday that the leagues and associations are participating in the White House Challenge to End Hunger and Build Healthy Communities. The challenge was launched last year as a follow-up to the 2022 White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health. The challenge calls on parties with a stake in the outcome to make “bold commitments” toward meeting the goal, according to the White House. The NHL, MLB, MLS, WSL and other sports leagues have made similar commitments, he said.

CNN —After missing the previous two Winter Games, National Hockey League players will return to the Olympics for the first time in more than a decade. The NHL, along with the National Hockey League Players Association and the International Ice Hockey Federation, have agreed to allow players to participate in the 2026 and 2030 Olympic Games. “We think this is a great stage for best on best, the best on best in obviously what we believe is in the best sport,” Bettman added. The 2026 Olympic Games are scheduled to be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. CNN —Draymond Green was left off Team USA’s provisional 41-man list for this summer’s Olympic Games due to the suspensions he’s received this season, USA Basketball executive director Grant Hill said Wednesday. Green was reinstated in the first week of January after serving a 12-game suspension. “But I think just in lieu of sort of what’s transpired this year, we made a decision to not have [Green] on this list with this particular point in time with the process. According to the NBA, Green had meetings with a counselor and has also on multiple occasions met with representatives from the league, the Warriors and the Players Association, and he will continue to do so throughout the season. Players who bet on games involving their own teams will face a minimum two-year suspension, while betting on any NFL game will result in a minimum one-year suspension. The league said it was working with the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) to develop a program educating players on changes to the policy. "The NFL and NFL Players Association share a longstanding and unwavering commitment to protecting the integrity of the game," the league and NFLPA said in a joint statement. Several NFL players have faced punishment for gambling over the last two years, as sports betting has become legal in more U.S. states and been made increasingly accessible.
