GOP Rep. Brian Babin of Texas expressed on Saturday that "history will be unforgiving" to any congressional Republican who doesn't back a challenge to the Electoral College certification of President-elect Joe Biden's win on Jan. 6.
In December, Babin co-signed a letter requesting that Congress hold hearings to "probe all allegations of illegal conduct concerning the November 3, 2020 elections."
Notable signatories of the letter included Reps. Mo Brooks of Alabama and Paul Gosar of Arizona, who early on stated that Trump won the election despite Biden's clear victory.
Since the aftermath of the November election, Trump has steadfastly claimed, without evidence, that he won the presidential race and that fraudulent votes were added to statewide tallies.
Biden won the 2020 presidential election with 306 Electoral College votes, to Trump's 232 electoral votes, with the Democratic president-elect winning over 7 million more votes than the president.
