There's a long standing debate about whether people should take their kids to a bar or if they should leave them at home. Pre-kids, I believed kids should stay homeI used to be in the camp that kids should stay home and that bars should just be for adults. Elliott Harrell didn't understand why parents brought their kids to happy hour until she had her own kids. Courtesy Elliott HarrellI try to pick spots where my kids will disrupt patrons the leastEven though I support parents taking kids to bars, I do think that parents should consider which spots will be better for kids. Taking our kids to happy hour is a way for us to get a change of scenery and be social without having the struggle of finding a babysitter.

Switzerland on Saturday won the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Swedish host city Malmo, beating runner-up Croatia, after having been among bookmakers' top-three to win the competition. Swiss rapper and singer Nemo, 24, won the contest with "The Code", a drum-and-bass, opera, rap and rock song, about Nemo's journey of self-discovery as a non-binary person. The Eurovision winner is awarded the contest's official glass trophy, which is shaped like a classic, old-fashioned microphone, with sand blasted and painted details. Tokyo CNN —A major Japanese food supplier has recalled more than 100,000 packs of a popular brand of sliced white bread after rat parts were found inside some loaves. They were found in a batch of white “chojuku” bread — or super fermented bread, known for its extra chewy texture — manufactured by a factory based in western Tokyo prefecture, according to the company. White bread is a staple for many Japanese people when they feel like a Western-style meal, or “yoshoku,” as an alternative to traditional Japanese food. Founded in 1920, Pasco is a major supplier of baked goods that employs more than 3,700 staff at 12 factories across the country. The 15-second commercial, released months ago, features a family excitingly declaring their love of good toast as breakfast, accompanied by a voice-over saying: “We put nothing unnecessary in it.”“I love chojuku bread.

CNN —A portrait by Gustav Klimt that was unseen for almost a century has sold for $32 million – the bottom end of its pre-auction estimate. The sale price was less than half that fetched by another Klimt painting – “Dame mit Fächer” (Lady with a Fan) – in London last year. The last portrait completed by Klimt became the most expensive artwork ever to sell at a European auction, when it sold for a £85.3 million ($108.4 million). However, new research by the auction house suggests Justus’ wife, Lilly, hired him to paint one of their two daughters. CNN —Scottie Scheffler clinched his second Masters title in style on Sunday, cementing the American’s status as the preeminent force in men’s golf. I love you,” Scheffler replied when asked by Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley if he had a message for his wife. To get fans closer to the Masters than ever before, IBM worked with the Masters digital team to infuse generative AI into the 2024 Masters app. First, these models need to be fueled by an organization's trusted data. Opinion | Netanyahu Must Go
  + stars: | 2024-04-09 | by ( Bret Stephens | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +2 min
Israel must destroy Hamas as a military and political force in the territory while minimizing harm to civilians. And for all of that to happen effectively, Benjamin Netanyahu must go. Why — to paraphrase Scarborough and his co-hosts — was Netanyahu asking Qatar to fund Hamas to the tune of hundreds of millions just weeks before the massacre? Why was the bulk of the Israeli military nowhere near Gaza in the first hours of the attack? When an Israeli minister is forced to humiliate himself on American TV because he can muster neither the sophistry nor the servility that a smoother answer would require, it’s a sign he’s in the wrong government.
