Albemarle, the world's biggest lithium producer, is acquiring the stake in Patriot just as the Canadian company estimated its Corvette resource as the biggest hardrock lithium deposit in the Americas. Patriot also agreed to study with Albemarle the viability of a downstream lithium hydroxide plant integrated with its Corvette deposit. The battery metals miner on Monday announced the first mineral resource estimate for spodumene pegmatite at Corvette, which showed deposits of 109.2 million tonnes of lithium oxide. Albemarle will subscribe to about 7.1 million Patriot shares for C$15.29 apiece, a near 7% premium to the stock's July 31 closing price on the TSX Venture Exchange. Patriot's Australia-listed shares jumped as much as 20.7% to A$1.823 by 0053 GMT, posting their biggest intraday percentage gain since March 28.

June 28 (Reuters) - Four times Olympic gold medallist Simone Biles will return to competition in early August at the U.S. Classic in Chicago, USA Gymnastics said on Wednesday, in what will be her first event since the Tokyo Games in 2021. That took her Olympic tally to seven medals, equalling Shannon Miller as the American female gymnast with the most Games medals. "Together, they have won 60 Olympic and World Championships medals, with 12 from the Games and 48 from Worlds. Those tallies include a combined 46 World or Olympic medals earned by Biles (32), Carey (8) and Lee (6)." Biles, who recently married NFL player Jonathan Owens, used the US Classic to return from a two-year break in 2018 following her participation in Rio.

"There are plans," Marina Shevlyakova, financial director of Patriot Group, told an online conference marking Patriot's debut placement of three-year bonds worth 200 million roubles ($3.23 million). We have plans to take a leading position (in the sector), and the only path for a market leader is an IPO," she said. Williams et Oliver aims to increase annual revenue to 2.3 billion roubles by 2025, from 861 million roubles in 2021, and boost net profit to 134 million roubles, from 61 million roubles. Patriot Group head Dmitry Shirokov said Williams et Oliver plans to expand in Russia and enter Kazakhstan.
