CNBC asked artists to name their top New York galleries, ranging from the well-known to the underground. London-based screen-printing artist Diego Arellano likes Manhattan's Chelsea galleries for their large rooms and high ceilings. Hauser & Wirth has two Chelsea galleries, and both are currently showing work by Hungarian-born U.S. artist Rita Ackermann. The Dia Chelsea gallery in New York City will show an exhibition by British filmmaker Steve McQueen in September. Jennifer Pan is the subject of a new Netflix documentary, "What Jennifer Did." Prior to planning her parents' murder with Wong and Crawford, Pan had previously asked a former classmate to kill her parents for her, but that classmate refused, Toronto Life reported. Toronto Life reported that Crawford gave Pan a discounted rate — $10,000 vs. a standard $20,000 — to kill her parents since she was a friend of Wong's. Through analyzing phone calls and text messages, police identified Crawford, Wong, Mylvaganam, and Carty, and arrested them in early 2011. If they don't, then Crawford, Pan, Wong, and Mylvaganam can seek parole on the attempted murder charge.

A Qantas flight traveling from New Zealand to Sydney landed safely on a single engine after it issued a mayday call over the Pacific Ocean on Wednesday. Qantas Flight 144 with 145 passengers aboard landed at Sydney Airport from Auckland, New Zealand, after a 3.5-hour flight between the neighboring nations’ most populous cities. Passengers told reporters in Sydney that they were told when they left the plane that an engine had failed.
