☆ Investor Neil Hennessy says megacap tech trade is 'over' and to buy these two stocks instead

Neil Hennessy said investors need to look at value stocks that offer attractive price-to-sales multiples and avoid what he sees as a dying "Magnificent Seven" trade. While Hennessy admitted that the Magnificent 7 stocks have performed well, he said their average price-to-earnings multiple sits at around 47 while their price-to-sales multiple is above 12. "The reality of our world is money is shifting over to value," said the University of San Diego alum. But Hennessy said the stock is attractively priced, with a price-to-sales multiple of 0.9 and P/E ratio of just 7. But the average price target implies the stock can turn around and surge more than 27% over the coming year.

Pierce has already delivered its Volterra electric firetruck to numerous fire departments across the country and has more on the way. Mail truck? Oshkosh makes them all, along with airport emergency vehicles, tow trucks, concrete mixers, truck-mounted cranes, military vehicles and others. The company makes an electric firetruck called the Volterra and is electrifying other vehicles in other departments. The postal truck is designed so that internal combustion versions can be retrofitted with battery electric technology.

Its Pierce brand is the largest maker of firetrucks in North America. It won a $3 billion contract to build the next generation USPS delivery truck.

Industrial manufacturer Oshkosh Corporation is showing significant growth potential, and investors should capitalize on it, according to Baird. Analyst Mircea (Mig) Dobre upgraded shares to outperform from neutral and raised his price target to $137 from $89. The new price target suggests a 35% upside from where the stock closed Tuesday. "The pressure in Vocational and Defense offset an Access business where execution/margin was ramping," Dobre said in a Wednesday note. In vocational, Dobre noted the company's second-quarter margin improvement as an indicator of improved supply chains and further margin growth.

CEO of industrial manufacturer Oshkosh Corp. John Pfeifer told CNBC's Jim Cramer artificial intelligence is already making his products more efficient. In fact, it has the potential to make vehicles like garbage trucks completely autonomous. Pfeifer said the company has already used AI to eliminate the role of the person who traditionally stands at the back of the truck. "The continuous evolution of autonomous functionality and AI will allow better productivity that ultimately can go completely unmanned." "We really like this acquisition, we've been working on this for a little while, probably three or four years we've been interested in it," Pfeifer said.

Postal Service (USPS) said on Monday it expected to receive next-generation delivery vehicles in June 2024, nine months behind a prior schedule. In March 2022, the USPS placed an initial $2.98 billion order for 50,000 next-generation delivery vehicles from Oshkosh Corp (OSK.N) and previously said it expected to begin receiving deliveries in October 2023. In April 2022, 16 states and environmental groups filed a lawsuit seeking to block USPS's plan to buy mostly gas-powered next-generation delivery vehicles, arguing that the agency failed to comply with environmental regulations. The modern vehicles will replace many older USPS vehicles that lack air bags and other safety equipment as well as air conditioning. In December, USPS said it would more than double planned electric delivery vehicles purchases after initially saying it would buy nearly all gasoline-powered delivery vehicles.

Newell Brands, maker of WoodWick candles and other consumer brands, is among the companies shifting some inventory accounting to FIFO from LIFO. U.S. companies from truck maker Oshkosh Corp. to consumer-goods conglomerate Newell Brands Inc. are moving away from “last-in, first-out” accounting, or LIFO, for their inventory, as inflation continues to pressure businesses’ earnings. Elevated inflation has weighed on companies’ earnings over the past two years, and economists expect it to remain above recent norms at least through this year. The producer-price index, a closely watched gauge of inflation at the wholesale level, rose 4.6% in February from a year earlier—well off the 11.7% annualized peak in March 2022 but still historically high.

The flurry of unidentified objects that have been shot down over North America this month could bring yet another boost to aerospace and defense stocks, but investors looking to use ETFs should be aware of some key differences between the largest funds. While defense stocks have outperformed the broader market over the past year, in part due to the war in Ukraine, the latest shoot downs don't appear to have significantly moved the sector. The biggest fund on the market is the iShares U.S. Aerospace & Defense ETF (ITA) , with about $5 billion in assets under management. Another market-cap weighted fund is the Invesco Aerospace & Defense ETF (PPA) . The third fund on the market is the SPDR S & P Aerospace & Defense ETF (XAR) .

Dec 28 (Reuters) - The U.S. State Department has approved the possible sale of Volcano anti-tank mine-laying systems to Taiwan for an estimated $180 million, the Pentagon said on Wednesday. Northrop Grumman and Oshkosh Corporation are the prime contractors for the potential sale. U.S. law requires the executive branch to notify Congress of potential arms sales that are over a certain amount. "The Chinese Communist Party's frequent military activities near Taiwan have posted severe military threats to us," the ministry said, adding that continuous U.S. military sales are the "cornerstone of maintaining regional stability and peace." Taiwan strongly rejects Beijing's sovereignty claim and says it will defend itself if attacked.
