KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — A missile strike on the Russian city of Belgorod near the Ukraine border on Thursday killed six people, including a child, and injured 18 others, a Russian official said. It was the latest in exchanges of long-range missile and rocket fire in Russia's war on Ukraine. Five of the 18 people injured in Belgorod, a city of around 340,000 people, were children, regional Gov. Dozens of people were killed and injured in an attack there over Russia’s New Year holiday weekend. The Russian missiles used on Thursday included Iskander ballistic missiles, Kalibr cruise missiles, guided aviation missiles and adapted S-300 anti-aircraft missiles.

Jerusalem CNN —Two Palestinian men were killed in the early hours of Sunday during an incursion by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the Nur Shams refugee camp near Tulkarem in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian officials said. He said it was the third Israeli raid on the camp this year, damaging electricity and water services. Videos obtained by CNN shared by residents of the camp showed military vehicles entering the camp, where at least one was hit by an IED. Israel raided the camp earlier in September, leaving a Palestinian man killed and another two injured. A general strike has been announced in the camp and Tulkarem.

Russia launched a missile attack overnight into Thursday on the port infrastructure of the southern region of Odesa, killing one person, Ukraine's Operational Command South said on Facebook. "Kalibr missiles were launched from a submarine in the waters of the Black Sea at a critically low altitude, which made detection difficult," the statement said. "A civilian employee was killed when one of the administrative buildings of the port was hit," it said. Oleh Kiper, the head of the region's military administration, said on Thursday the employee who died was a security guard born in 1979. It said the Kalibr missiles were not intercepted, but all eight drones were destroyed by the Air Force in the Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropertovsk and Donetsk regions.
