The searches are in connection with Franklin Templeton closing six debt schemes in April 2020, which it had blamed on the lack of liquidity due to Covid-19's impact on the markets. Vivek and Rupa Kudva were held guilty of withdrawing their own investments ahead of the winding of the schemes. A spokesperson for Franklin Templeton did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comments. Vivek and Rupa Kudva could not be immediately reached for comment.
