London CNN —FTX has recovered enough assets to pay most of its creditors back in full, the failed crypto exchange said late Tuesday as it unveiled a proposed reorganization plan. “The plan contemplates payment in full of all non-governmental creditors based on the value of their claims as determined by the (relevant) bankruptcy court,” FTX said in a statement. London CNN —One year after the conclusion of the world’s biggest trial of a four-day work week, a large majority of companies that took part were still allowing their employees to work a shorter week and more than half had made the change permanent. All said the four-day week had a positive impact on their company. The Autonomy report also highlights the methods organizations have used to sustain a four-day week, including revising the norms around meetings, work communications and prioritization. “In this study, it has been clear the four-day week is not just a flash in the pan: companies around the UK have successfully been ‘making it stick’,” the authors wrote. There have been a number of experiments with the four-day week around the world, including a trial in 2022 across 33 companies, with the majority of workers based in the United States and Ireland.

London CNN —Nike will lay off about 2% of its employees, or close to 1,700 people, as the sportswear behemoth looks to cut as much as $2 billion in costs. In December, Nike slashed its revenue forecast and announced cost cuts amid growing concerns that consumers around the world are slowing their spending. The company said it was looking for up to $2 billion in savings over the next three years. Nike is also facing tough competition from upstart brands like Hoka and On Cloud. And Germany, the region’s biggest economy, shrank last year for the first time since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
