Tal and Oren spent more than a decade at the brokerage firm Douglas Elliman, establishing themselves as big-name sellers of ultra-pricey homes. In 2022, the pair broke off from Elliman and cofounded Official Partners, a firm that focuses exclusively on the uppermost tier of the residential sales market. She also said that the decision to step aside was mutually made by Tal and Official. "Given the salacious nature of this false allegation and impact on Official, Tal and his partners have decided he will take a leave from the company," Deanna Paul, the attorney, said.

Organizers for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics plan to hold swimming in the home of the NFL’s Rams and Chargers — and softball and canoe slalom in Oklahoma. That’s according to an amended venue plan unveiled Friday by LA28, the 2028 Games’ organizing committee. It will be the largest swimming venue in Games history, per LA28, with 38,000 seats. LA28 organizers faced one complication with the SoFi swimming plan, however: The stadium is also set to be part of the Games’ opening ceremonies. The venue plan adjustments are in part due to new arenas that have become available for use and a previously assigned venue that became unavailable, LA28 said.

The Daily Beast first reported on Sunday the note from Jones is a clue Trump used a fake $48 million loan as a vessel to avoid paying income taxes. "It would appear, assuming Judge Jones' letter is accurate, that this amounts to tax evasion," Martin Lobel, a tax lawyer, told The Daily Beast. So, instead of paying income taxes of up to 39% on the forgiven debt, the outlet reported, Trump "invented a loan — and then parked it."

Simon & Schuster paid him a $1.4 million advance for the book, new documents show. In the Simon & Schuster-published book, "So Help Me God," Pence vividly described how Trump tried to pressure him against certifying President Joe Biden's 2020 victory. Hillary Clinton received an $8 million advance for her memoir "Living History," about her time as First Lady. CNN previously reported that the book advance was estimated at being somewhere between $3 million to $4 million, though that reportedly included a contract to write a second book. An Insider analysis of financial disclosures found that members of Congress together raked in $1.8 million in 2020 from book advances and royalties.

His previous documents showed his net worth was just $319,000, and that he still had student loans. Ron DeSantis may have greatly increased his net worth in the last year. Those documents showed the governor, now 44, had a net worth of just $318,986.99, didn't own property, and carried $21,284.92 in student loans. Also, if DeSantis didn't receive his book advance until 2023, then the Florida documents may not contain it but the federal documents would have to. Forbes estimates Trump's net worth at $3 billion, though Trump himself has pegged the figure at $10 billion.

The agency anticipates the new rules would mean EVs could also make up nearly half of all new medium-duty vehicles, like delivery trucks, by model year 2032. One expert told CNN the Biden administration’s proposal is a pivotal moment for the US auto industry and consumers. Six in 10 respondents said they believe EVs help the environment “only a little” or “not at all,” Gallup reported. “Folks who purchase electric vehicles will see a cost savings over the lifespan of the vehicle, because they’re not having to buy gas, having to pay for maintenance,” Regan said. That means much of the US car industry will already be transitioning ahead of the proposed federal rules.
The attorney, Office of Government Ethics General Counsel David Apol, missed deadlines to report at least 12 different bond transactions since 2015. Improperly reporting purchases and sales of bonds or stocks is a violation of the 2012 Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act, or STOCK Act. Officials are only required to report transactions in broad ranges. Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia has been one of the lead proponents in Congress of reforming the STOCK Act. Congress this year discussed changes to the STOCK Act and the US House even held a hearing following the publication of "Conflicted Congress."
